Blood and Moonlight

This is an RP between myself and Ronnie. It's a sort of GT Vampire/Werewolf bit, so enjoy!

Before anyone gets confused, true werewolves (those who are born werewolves) are called Lycans and true Vampires (those born vampires) are called Strigoi. Half-werewolves (those who are bitten) are called Wargs and Half-vampires (those who are bitten) are called Damphirs

The battles have being going on for years now… Between the Were-creatures and the Vampires… Humans and Giants merely pawns in the this game of life…of blood…of savagery...of WAR. Yes…It has been said that the war has been going on since the dawn of time. Whether this is true or not, only God knows.. Most old manuscripts have been destroyed in the fierce battles. Vampires and Were-Creatures were known to turn giants in order to guard the strongholds…. Too rebellious to use in true battles… They’d run or go on a rampage for sure. So chained to the castles for eternity they were. Daren Vanguard was one of them…To the stronghold of the Silver Wing Coven to be exact. These vampires reputation were that of cruelty and blood-lust. This was reflected everywhere… Every vampire..Every damphir… Every soldier… Every guard… Everyone.. except one certain being… Daren…Every day, Daren dreamed of freedom and verbalized this to anyone who’d listen.… Needless, to say this infuriated the coven leader to no end. “Today, he dies..,” said the leader, Kain, solemnly…Little did he know…this “end” was merely just the beginning.

Amonst the seemingly everlasting war between the Were-creatures and their adversaries the vampires, young Tala the werewolf was caught in it. Although she was a werewolf, like the rest of her family, she had not turned yet. Turning is the process in each Were-creature (who is born as a were-creature) in which they fully mature into a werebeast and gain the power of transformation. However, Turning varies with each person, although it does happen to them before their 21st birthday. Young Tala has not Turned yet. Her 20th birthday was only a month away and she hasn't Turned yet. Her older brother ,Wulf, Turned when he was 18, and was now 26. Because of war, he tries to keep his little sister out of it as much as he can. Wulf was a bit over-protective of her and made his huge body guards go with her whereever she went. Tala wished she could go out on her own, without guards or anything.

"Brother, let me go out on my own! I'm almost an adult! Please!" pleaded Tala, her green eyes glistening. Wulf growled a little and turned to his little sister. "No, Tala! I don't want you to get hurt!" he said, trying not to yell. She had always tried to let Wulf go out on her own, without success. But she was persistant and refused to back down. But her persistance was wearing thin on her brother's patience.

"Please brothe-"

"I SAID NO!" he yelled at her. Without thinking, he grabbed onto her arms tightly, almost crushing her. Tala yelped in pain before Wulf finally snapped out of it and let go of her. He looked at her and she merely stared at her with fearful eyes before running up to her room and locking the door. How could her brother do that to her? How could he hurt her like that? Tala couldn't take it anymore. She stuck her head out her window, checking to make sure no one was around. When she made sure the coast was clear, she hopped down to the ground and ran off into the woods.

Daren ran a ran hand through his short cropped spiky black hair and looked up with the moonlit sky..his silver eyes glowing. “Tonight’s the night,” he said to himself, “The night I finally become free”

One of the vampires who heard him merely laughed at the young damphir [all turned “vampires” are merely damphirs… Only vampires born from full-blooded vampires are considered true vampires..damphirs are used as guards because they can stand sunlight and such]. “Hardly..,” spoke the vampire, ”Tonight is the night you DIE!”

“Wh-what?” responded Daren.

“Lord Kain has had enough of your childishness and foolishness… You’re being sent to…the pit…I wonder how long you’ll last against Viktor.” Daren put a mask of fear on until the vampire left. The fools, he thought…They underestimate me so….In order to get me to the pit they have to unchain me…heheheh…Peeerrfeect…

Tala ran as far as she could. Away from her brother....away from the fighting... She hoped that her brother wouldn't find her. The forest itself was on a hill, overlooking a small human village. 'Perhaps I could hide there..' Tala thought to herself. Because she was unTurned, she looked exactly like a normal human. The only thing that seperated her from a normal human was her heightened senses and brute strength since she was born a werewolf. Tala went down the hill and entered the human village. With so many humans around, she blended right in.

Daren's silver eyes glinted maliciously in the moonlight as the thundering beat of drums sounded throughout the air.
THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!
To most damphirs who met this beat, it was certain doom, but to Daren it was magnificent. His racing heartbeat matching the drums, he nearly gave an ecstatic squeal of glee as numerous armored vampires came to bring Dante to the pit. He could take them , he knew he could and as the chains unlatched, his lips curled into a cruel smirk. “Let the games begin,” he purred…Mostly to himself.

Tala entered a local inn, the scent of ale and meat filled the air. The room was filled with the sounds of merriment and laughter, as patrons drank and ate. The young werewolf sat down at a table near a window, trying not to cause attention to herself. She looked out the window and sighed, thinking about her brother Wulf. She knew in her heart that he loved her and would never dare hurt her intentionally. But when he grabbed her and hurt her like that, it made her heart hurt just thinking about it. The War and the fighting might have just gotten to him and was beginning to wear on him. She did want to go back to the castle to appologize, but she wanted to wait. She had never been to a human village on her own before and she wanted to take everything before returning back home.

Meanwhile back at the castle, Wulf sat on a chair holding his head. He felt intensely guilty for what he did to his poor little sister Tala. Just remembering the look on her face made his chest ache. His wolf ears flattened and his tail between his legs. 'She must still be mad at me..' he thought, making a sort of whining sound. Wulf decided to wait a bit, letting his sister calm down before he could appologize to her.

For the cocky Daren, the fight lasted much longer than he anticipated, but in reality a couple hours was all it was. Which, as it turned out, was perfect for Daren. For as the battle between Damphir and Vampires raged on, the night was wading… And the sizzling sound of burning vampire flesh was the sign of the coming morn. Hissing, the remaining vampires ran off into the reclusion of the castle. Daren, who was on the verge of defeat, on the otherhead, threw his head up intot air in a fit of maniacal laughter. “Finally… Finally I’m free.” And with that, he was off.

Tala sat at the table, quietly drinking some water that she ordered a while ago. Across the room, 3 human males who were obviously drunk from ale, stared at her. One of them shuffled his way over towards her. Tala looked up, only to be met with the human's foul breath which was thick with the scent of alcolhol. "Hey there, pretty thing..." he slurred. "What's a place like you doin' a girl like this?" Tala cringed slightly at the man's words. She could tell that he was drunk, his face was flushed and his whole being reeked of mead. "E-Excusme.. I think I should be leaving now.." she said, looking away. But just as she tried to get up, the man blocked her way with his arm. "Aw.. C'mon girlie... Gimme a little kiss..." he said, puckering his lips. Tala tried to push him away, but he was persistant and kept moving forward. "Let me go!" she screamed. Without even thinking, she used her brute werebeast strength and pushed him. She pushed him so hard that she sent him flying and crashing down onto some tables across the room. Everyone in the inn stared at Tala. Before she could even speak, someone shouted "She's a werebeast!" Scared, Tala quickly ran out of the tavern, not even bothering to look back. She quickly ran back up the hill and back into the woods. Tala was scared of being captured that she didn't even bother of looking where she was going.

Daren panted heavily as he reached a forest clearing, unsure of what to do. Having been a guard – more like slave – to the strigois [vampires] for so long he had forgotten what it was like to be free…He forgot what it was like to be a giant …free of bloodlust… He forgot the landscapes… He forgot…everything, he thought with almost disgust with himself. So here he was, wondering…in for all he knew, Lycan[were-beast] territory …He dreaded that thought… However, his thoughts were interrupted as the pitter patter of footsteps sounded throughout the forest. And thanks to his sensitive ears, he could hear the person…the creature? Was incredibly close….He looked down just in time to see a girl burst out and running full force…straight at him… Is she not looking where she’s going?, he thought in part amazement/part amusement.

As Tala ran away from her persuers, she ran into to something, making her fall on her butt. She rubbed her face and looked to see what she hit. When she saw it, she went pale. A huge pair of bare feet. She moved her eyes upward slowly. It was a giant. Not just a normal, run-of-the-mill giant, but a Damphir. A HUGE Damphir. His skin was extremely pale, almost white. His short black hair seemed to make his silver eyes even brighter. He was extremely muscular and his body was riddles with scars, both old and new. He had long, sharp claws on his hands, which were wrapped in a dirty cloth. He wore no shoes or shirt and had only a pair of black pants on, which were ripped and patched up in several places. Tala trembled before the huge Damphir. She had never seen anything like him, ever. She was used to giants, since her family's guards were giant Wargs [half-werewolves]. But she had never dreamed of seeing a vampire, especially one this big and this close. Then Tala's ears twitched as she heard the angry mob from the inn closing in on her. Frightened, she ran between the giant Damphir's legs and into a nearby hole in a tree.

In the split seconds that Daren saw the girl, he studied her intently. She was a female of average height…With brunette hair and rather striking green eyes… She was rather human in appearance but that didn’t say much.. she could easily be a strigoi, damphir, warg, or an Un-Turned Lycan… His nose was too filled with his own blood to be able to catch her scent. However as quick as she came, the even quicker she left , her turned to see her leap into a tree hole.

“Hey,” he started, before the sound of an oncoming crowd came…and thus, running into the clearing was a huge crowd of angry humans… Daren looked at them with distaste..a sneer forming around his lips… Humans always seemed to attack things they didn’t understand… And this girl, who probably wasn’t human, has now struck their nerve….Heh…He looked back at where the girl hid and then back at the mob –some of which at already fled at the sight of him…however, there was still quite a few brave souls…or rather stupid souls…that stuck around.

“Where’s the girl?,” snarled a large brute of a human.

“Yeah!,” berated some of the other humans.

However Daren just let out a snarl and all but punted the brutish human whom was flung against a tree with a sickening crack. Needless, to say the rest of humans scattered like rats and ran out of the clearing. Daren gave a sigh as he pondered why the hell he protected this random girl he didn’t even knew…

Tala heard the mob yelling out at the Damphir to where she was hiding. She prayed to the gods that he wouldn't tell them. And that he wouldn't hurt her... Suddenly, she heard one of the humans scream and a sickening crack against something. The mob panicked and scattered. Tala began to tremble again. Would she meet the same fate as that human by the hands of that Damphir? Or an even worse fate? She wasn't exactly sure. Heavy footfalls were coming closer to her hiding spot. Her bright green eyes widened as they got louder. What was in store for her with this Damphir?

Daren looked on coldly until the last human had scurried away from the clearing. Giving a small smile of relief he turned curiously back at the tree-hole where the girl was hiding. Cautiously, he approached her hiding spot… Hoping with all his might he didn’t scare her too much. After getting to a distance he deemed close enough, he spoke up.

“Are you ok? I’m sorry if I frightened you…I mean you no harm… Honestly… Please come out.. Er.. My name’s Daren…..,” he added almost awkwardly….He never had much experience with females before….

Tala slowly peeked of her hiding spot to see her savior (or killer). He was a little close to where she was, but not too close. Her eyes scanned Daren more closely. He had blood on him (whether it was his blood or someone else’s, she wasn't sure) as well as cuts on him. 'He must have been in a fight...' she thought. Slowly, she stepped out of the tree hole. "A-Are... Are you h-hurt, Daren? I-I can heal y-you if you wish..." she said in an almost quiet voice.

Daren cocked his head to the side in a curious manner. She wanted to heal him? He nearly laughed out of shock and amusement. She was an odd one indeed. After what he did to that one human, most would have run the other way, but not this girl. Sure, she seemed frightened enough, but she didn’t flee which, while Daren didn’t show it at the moment, meant a lot to him. Giving a soft smile, he spoke up “That would be lovely…Thank you,” he said in advance before questioning the girl. “Just what are you, girl?”

Tala nodded and started to heal Daren's wounds that were closest to her. “Just what are you, girl?” asked the giant Damphir. Tala froze. She looked up at his face, staring into his silver eyes with an almost hesitant look. She had nearly forgotten the feud between Vampires and Werebeasts. "I'm... I'm.... " She was afraid of what would happen to her if she admitted to being a Lycan. Would he kill her? Rip her apart? She was unsure. He seemed nice and even if he wanted to harm her, he probably would of done it already. "I'm.... a Lycan..." There. She said it. She admitted of being a Lycan. She was afraid af him killing her, like he did that human earlier. She had always questioned the Vampire-Werebeast War. Why did Vampires and her kind have to fight? What was the purpose behind it? Her brother Wulf had fought against and killed many Strigoi and Damphir and had the scars to prove it. Tala hated to see her older brother get hurt. She just wished that this useless War would end..

“I’m Lycan,” spoke the girl..Trepidation in her voice. Yet again, he almost laughed. She obviously didn’t understand the relationship between Damphirs and Strigoi…It was not a pleasant one…at least on the damphir’s part is wasn’t’…and it was all the Strigoi’s fault. Strigoi treated Damphir as lesser and inferior mongrels only meant as hounds of war. Daren snorted at this thought before laying his silver eyes on the girl, giving a soft smile. “If you think I ally with those bastard strigoi you are quite mistaken…I ally only with myself…Strigoi see me only as an inferior slave....,” he ended with a sneer. “What is a young Lycan like yourself doing so close to Strigoi territory?,” he questioned.

NOTE: This is all Stray and I have done so far...Due to Stray participating in the Grand-Trials ...We've decided to take a break from this RP until the Trials are over...thus, don't expect an update for the next couple of months >>'
