Title means, 'Light upon you! Darkness take you!"
A little epic rp that Fang and I had started on a whim and I hope you all enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed writing it. It is based on the Forgotten Realms series with the races and landscape.
Elladan: (said: L-ah-dan): Played by me
Aultair: (Ault-air) Played by Fang
Aradil: (Air-ah-dill) Played by me
-----------------------------------
The sun, how he hated the sun. It burned his eyes and skin to the point where every movement was pure agony. He crouched down deeper into the slightly thorny bush he was hiding in. His trusty daggers where out, glinting in the light that they were not used to. "Come on," he hissed, his sensitive ears picking up the sound of horses. And to his joy, a lot of horses which meant a lot of people. A lot of people and horses would need a lot of food. He would eat well tonight!
As soon as the head of the caravan was in sight, he prepared to launch into his ambush, Dark elves were great at ambush attacks, quiet and graceful. The leader passed him, not knowing what watched him, but the strange furry creatures walking at his side picked up the drow's slightly sour scent. They whined and struggled at their tethers, noses pointed at Elladan.
The drow elf snarled back. The damned beasts were going to give him away. His patience was growing thin and the human master had turned to where he was hiding. With a war cry, he leaped from his bushed hiding spot and slew one of the furry four-legged beasts of which the drow did not know their name. He slit the throat of the leader and went for the first carriage, expecting an easy raid.
The giant closed his eyes and drew a deep breath through his nose, his broad chest expanding with the rich evening air while he crouched beside the forest stream.
It had indeed been a full day. He turned his attention back to the fresh gouges scoring his arms, gently rinsing them out with clean water before bandaging them with the cloth he had received from a village as payment last week.
This afternoon’s battle had proved to be a bit more difficult than usual…nesting wyverns are not pleasant creature and dealing with a brooding female…try unpleasant times ten.
The sound of horses broke through his thoughts and Aultair straightened. The beasts sounded frightened.
Frowning, he finished rinsing his own blood from his hands and made sure the bandages were tight before grabbing his prized battle axe, Draug-Amarth, and slinging it over his shoulder as he stood and stepped over the stream…carefully making his way though the chest-high forest in the direction of the
panicked animals…
Elladan slashed and cut his way to the largest of the caravan. Busting the door open with some fire that he learned to use at the drow academy, he stepped inside. A woman clutching a baby to her heaving chest stared at him with glazed eyes. Elladan sighed and rubbed his aching temples. His stomach gave a sick growl, reminding him that he had not eaten in a few days. She screamed something at him in a distressed tone. He thought about his next actions.
"Me... not hurt... you," he said, stumbling on words. He pointed to his stomach showing that all he wanted was food. She withdrew further into her corner. The baby started to bawl at the tops of its lungs. Elladan shook blood out of his white hair and took one step to the side where he saw a stack of dried meat. Just as he bit into one long piece, the woman set her baby down in a pile of bright cloth and lunged for him with a small knife she had hidden inbetween her breasts. Being a drow, the smaller ebony skinned male spun around on his heel faster than the human could comprehend.
Elladan twisted her arm back feircly, dirarming her, but not before she had made a gash in his bare forearm. It still hurt after the rockslide he had been caught in on his first day in freedom. The rockslide that had ruined his chain mail. He snarled, meat hanging from his mouth, Just as he was about to toss her aside, he heard a strange and huge noise.
Aultair's frown turned to a scowl when he came upon the scene that lay across the road...several carriages were crammed together, some of them having collided, obviously they'd been stopped in a hurry, the horses still tangled in the reigns and harnesses, and the animals' fright only grew when the giant knelt beside the caravan. But he ignored the beasts...looking over several slashed bodies that littered the dirt path and slumped over the carriages. Thieves...obviously...
Ault crouched down lower, trying to look into the largest carriage...it was moving and he could hear noises inside...leery of what might be taking place inside he placed a hand on top of the cart to stop its movement as he put his eye against the window...
Elladan saw a silver-toned eye at the window and froze. The woman rushed to her baby's aid and was now in tears. "Monster!" Elladan yelped lunging from the carriage, piece of meat still hanging from his mouth. He wasn't about to give up his prize. He threw the knife the woman had threatened him with at the monster of a man and ran as fast as he could, which happened to not be very far. He tripped over his own feet and slammed onto the dirt.
Muttering to himself in undercommon, he rolled into his back and seeing that he was bleeding from his shin now, he panicked. His ankle started to swell and hurt very badly. He looked around, but the path was clear. He cursed and dropped an orb of darkness around himself, his only defense. All he wanted to do was eat and now this! Hopefully the other wouldn't try to catch him the drow prayed, knashing his teeth into the meat through the intence pain.
