"Tristan stop. Stop moving." Large warm hands curled gently around the small shaking one. "I think you're scaring it whatever it is. Let me see." Valentine slowly uncurled his brothers fingers and let the tiny figure slip onto his open palms. The creature gave off a faint warmth from underneath the chilling mud. Without thinking he brushed a thumb faintly across its chest wiping away the filth. Tristan looked on in wonder, wide eyes seemingly unblinking. "So, do you have a name?"

"For all you know I am the Archangel Uriel come to smite you!" the tiny angel snapped, his eyes glaring holes into the giant human. But when the older boy began to wipe the muck from his chest, Farvardin settled down a bit. Huffing a few minor curses, he sat with his legs spread eagled in the human's palm and allowed Valentine to do what he wanted.
"It is all you humans fault I'm covered in this crud," he muttered. His wings betrayed him though, flaring out in pleasure. He was beginning to enjoy the petting sensation now that the fear of being crushed was just about gone. These humans did not seem to WANT to hurt him. He was still carefull.
"Why do you want to know my name anyways? It is none of your concern," the angel snapped shaking a fist at the older of the two, "Besides he could have almost killed me!" An accusing finger was thrust towards Tristian. A shudder ran down Farvardin's spine at the memory of the backpack. He finally looked down at his mangled leg, blood bubbling up to the surface. The bone was broken, he needed to do something, but knew not what to do. With a low moan, he slumped over to clutch his bad leg. His wings drouped around him.
"I am Farvardin," he wimpered giving up.

The tiny creature fascinated him. Small wings stretched causing Tristan to grin. Small hands reached out to grasp his brothers wrist only to have his grin fade. "Besides he could have almost killed me!" Twin flags flared up on each cheek as Tristan bowed his head in shame to the memory of the rough journey home.
Long fingers worked on their own accord to clean the huddled figure. Valentine glanced quickly at his brother at the accusation. "Killed? I know he's a bit rough but I don't think...." A small moan caught his attention drawing his eyebrows together. Red marked the small angels leg. "I am Farvardin." "Are you alright Far-Farvardin," The stumble over the foreign name was short. "Are you hurt?" Slowly Valentine stood and twisted around to start back into the kitchen.
"Far-fa--vvv--innn..." Tristan blew out his breath in a puff. His small mouth couldn't seem to get around the name, frustrating him. The pain in the smaller being now seemed obviously apparent. He jumped up after his brother. "I can help!" The water faucet turned easily beneath his searching fingers. A first-aid kit was produced from the crowed cabinets. With a smile Tristan turned around to again face his brother who now stood silently at the sink. Valentine thrust the back of his hand under the flow of water to check it's temperature before wetting a small hand towel and bringing it up to the angel still sitting curled in his palm. "I promise I wont hurt you, but I need to clean your leg before it can be fixed."

The angel scoffed the most rude of replies, "Just let me under the water. It has to be more gentle than you humans could manage." He ran his fingers in his long, mud-crusted, golden hair in a vain manner. He snapped a sharp glare onto Valentine. Farvardin made it known that he did not trust these humans. He made an unsure mumble as he gazed into the running faucet, steam gently bubbling up from the hot water.
"What can you do for me anyways?"

The first aid kit made a hollow thump as it hit the counter next to Val. Ointment, band aids, gauze and cotton balls began to appear like bunnies from a beginner magician's hat. Tristan lined them all up and turned to his brother. "Peroxide first right? To clean him up."
Valentine turned a small smile to Tristan. "Well first and foremost the mud has to be taken care of but yes then Peroxide." A small worry line appeared on his forehead as he turned back to the running water. Farvardin's leg seemed to be broken. Would he really be able to clean himself properly? Val decided not to push it. So far this small angel seemed to be carrying around a huge grudge and he didn't think he needed to spark any more anger by patronizing the small creature. Silver flashed as a simple grate was placed snugly into the drain. "I don't want anything to happen accidentally. Please tell me if the water temperature is to your liking." With a small adjustment, Valentine placed the huddled form firmly next to the running water and placed the damp washcloth across his lap. "To make it easier."

The angel crossed his arms and allowed the human to do as he wished. He was not in the mood for a mighty struggle. A heavy, coarse cloth was draped over his lap. The human explained what it was for, but Farvardin did not listen. He grit his teeth in pain. A firey pain shot up his broken leg. He firmly closed his eyes and tried thinking of something else. Uriel standing there, his red hair bellowing in the breeze and his armor glinting golden in the light. Raphael with his telescope, teaching human souls to look for new stars and new angels. Gabriel engaging in a dizzy waltz with burley Michael, both agruing about music and if disco was a disgrace.
But the pain blotted all that out. With a blood curdling scream, Farvardin tried to scramble away from the water that proved too strong for his frail body. But that cloth kept him pinned down and his pride kept him from admitting he was wrong.

The scream tore at his senses. With a hiss Valentine hastily peeled back the washcloth and inspected the damage. How could so much blood come from something so small? A firm slap moved the faucet to the other side of the sink, away from doing more harm. Now to begin, he thought. "This.....may hurt. I'm sorry, but I have to do this otherwise there could be infection." Gritting his teeth, Val got to work. Steady fingers peeled away soiled clothes with a single minded efficiency. "Well...ah..." What lied underneath the layer of mud caused him to catch his breath.
Small fingers had curled into theirs brothers belt loop at the sound of the scream. Tristan stuck his free fingers into his mouth in worry. "Brother..." His brow wrinkled in concentration. Somehow the angel seemed more like a doll now then ever. Besides the pretty face, no specific gender was apparent. Before the boy could ask which it was though a stern voice cut him off.
"Tristan hand me the ear plunge please." After a moment of shuffling, a round bulb was pressed into a waiting hand. Valentine filled it with luke warm water and preceded to rinse off the small angel. After the majority of the mud had been drained large hands wrapped once again around the small frame and lifted. A dry towel was placed next to the sink and the angel lied atop it. "Now....for the hard part..."

The whole while the human's thick fingers proded and poked him, the angel muttered curses upon his name and house. He felt dizzy with pain, a feeling that should have been unknown to an angel. It wasn't pleasent. Aside from a small yelp here and there, the angel suddenly fell silent. His off-white wings lay limp as the human lifted him from his less than pleasent bath.
"What are you doing?" the angel slurred on the very edge of blacking out. He swatted lamely at Val's intruding hands while trying to cover his naked form. Angel's had nothing to hide, but modesty of their bodies was a conditioned responce. To be naked was like to be human.
After a while, the proud angel gave in. He fell back to stare at the swimming ceiling, a placid smile on his features.
"I can sense him!" Farvardin muttered reaching up towards Val,but not reallying seeing him, "Brother. Raphael." His outstreached arm suddenly fell to his side, the towl protecting it from bruising, and his head tilted sideways. His shining eyes, wet with painful tears, closed and he lay still, his mind no longer with him. He appeared to sleep in his unconsious state, making Val's job easier.

A sharp intake of breath punctuated Valentines movements as he raised the edge of the towel. The fabric barely touched the small form before once again falling to the side. The leg was definitely broken no questions asked. His mind worked fervently, searching for knowledge buried among other high school memories. Senior year Val had taken a nursing coarse to please his mother and had passed with a solid B. Now more then ever he was grateful for his mothers insistence. "Just a little longer." The angel's lips moved producing a faint sound. As Val ducked his head a small hand was thrust toward him only to fall limp once more. Green eyes burned. "Hang on Farvardin." Nimble fingers made quick work of a peroxide soaked cotton ball and torn Kleenexes. The tiny leg was padded and splinted with a simple Q-tip held on by thick dental floss.
Delicate fingers clutched tight showing pale white knuckles. Wide green eyes stared into their matching set so intent on the task before them. Tristan glanced from his brother to the still figure atop the counter. Trying hard not to cry he gave a squeak. "Is he gonna be ok? He wont die right?" Even with it's doll like features, a male pronoun seemed to fit the tiny angel. "Yes Tristan, he'll be fine. Can you go get your old blue t-shirt and bring it here?" Tristan scrambled to do as his brother asked. The shirt mentioned was soft and thin from use even thou he had long grown out of it. Digging it out of the bottom of his closet Tristan once again dashed into the kitchen out of breath. "Here you go brother!" "Thank you." Large hands aided by a pair of kitchen scissors tore the fabric into strips. The angel was wrapped into one wide strip and lifted into the air. "He needs to rest now. Let's put him on my bed." Tristan followed his brother from the kitchen and through the doorway of a small bedroom. The angel was placed softly onto one large red pillow. "Now don't touch him just yet." The boy gave a small nod and knelt on the floor. A sigh escaped his lips rustling the forms long hair. "Please be ok."

A large warm hand was gently placed on the boy's shoulder. A formless shape draped over little Tristan.
"It's all right now. You can leave the rest to me. I will heal him for you," an equally warm voice breathed in Tristan's ear. The curtains fluttered and Farvardin stirred.
"Raphael?" the tiny angelic creature moaned flipping onto his side. Something brushed against his long making it rustle. His hands clenched the coarse fabric of the pillowcase.
"It hurts," Farvardin groaned, his brows knitting in pain. The invisible being whose presence filled the room with light and the scent of herbal medicines wiped the watery sweat from the angel's brow.
"You are so stubborn, but you will heal fast. You have my blessing. You and your new human family," Raphael whispered. He fluttered to life before Tristan. His golden brown hair drifted around his large golden wings. His blue eyes twinkled with pleasure. A large warm smile played on his smooth lips. Placing a shushing finger to his soft mouth, he opened the window and leaped out taking the overbearing presence with him.
"Don't tell the older human. That was a friend of mine. Promise me!" Farvardin grunted, his eyes not engaging Tristan's. The small angel's fluffed with distaste and what the small human would do next would make or break the angel's trust as the sound of Valentine's return to the room reached Farvardin's sensative hearing.

With a tiny shudder Tristan scrambled back against his brothers night stand, eyes darting back and forth. "Wha-a-a......?" The room before him appeared empty but something inside screamed that they were not alone. There were mummers and with a sudden bang the window shot open. Tristan let out his pent up breath and turned at the tiny angels soft plea. Small fingers gravitated towards a waiting mouth. Could he not tell Valentine? Since their parents death there had been no secrets between the brothers. Maybe just this once but no....he couldn't lie to his brother. His mind turned the situation around and around. What had even happened? Tristan finally came to a decision. He wouldn't know how to tell Val what exactly had happened so maybe it was just better to not say anything at all. Leaning a bit closer to the angel he whispered once more. "Don't worry. I wont tell. Promise."
The ticking of the clock seemed to condemn him. Somehow time had slipped away and Valentine could not afford to be late. Friday always seemed to be the busiest day and his manager would have his hide for a rug if he wasn't on time. "Tristan? I have to leave for work now but...." The scene that greeted him made the human pause. Tristan was hunched over the pillow whispering something to a very much awake angel. "Farvardin? You're awake, are you ok? Can I get you something?" Val moved to stand behind his brother to stare worriedly done at the small form.
