"D-do you think this is this "Van", they were talking about?"Flai asked. "I don't know Flai....but I hope he's on our side...." Crystal replied in a hushed tone. "You ain't the only one Crys...." Raven muttered. "I don't think he will attack us, maybe he can tell us where the next savepoint is," Flai said.
Tech groaned; she wanted to shout at Flai for being so native. Games like this always had one of those 'under-cover spies' even if they where an AI...and super big. Whatever this 'Vantage' thing was, Tech wasn't letting her guard down. Someone had to play leader here,and she had the guts to do it.
Tech shoved passed the other players,"Stay back, this might get messy." Before she got to the giant, she made sure that her gun was loaded; she stopped walking when she was a mere four feet away. Was this the dumbest thing she'd done? Hell no, but it was pretty damn close.
"If your really our guide,Van,then help us. We aren't made for this type of terrain anymore. but if you hurt anyone, I'll make you into Swiss cheese." Sure it was big talk but Tech wasn't the one who would hide like a coward.

Crystal felt a little relieved to know this "Vantage" giant was their guide and that he was only part of the game, but she was still unsure, thinking about all the things that could happen with the huge size difference. 'What if he were to accidentally step on us?!' She thought to herself, backing away from Raven's back, but still very close. 'It may be a game, but it will still feel so real... And who knows what will happen with all these damn glitches!' Crystal's thoughts were immediately interrupted when Tech shoved her way pass them and up to the giant. "Uh oh..." She mumbled, watching as Tech's hostile attitude resurfaced.
"If your really our guide, Van, then help us. We aren't made for this type of terrain anymore... But if you hurt anyone, I'll make you into Swiss cheese."
With those words, Crystal felt a surge of courage go through her body; she took a few steps toward Van and stood next to Tech. "She's right! Hurt anyone one of us and you're in for it!!" She shouted up to him, crossing her arms. "What are we gonna do now? If you're supposed to be our "guide" then you should know what to do right?" She tapped her foot impatiently, her glare locked on Van. "Oh and by the way, the name's Crystal. Know it and remember it." She just hoped she hadn't made a bad decision of introducing herself...

((Very very sorry, guys. I've had some computer troubles and I'm working it out. Please regard me with that in mind. )) ~~~ Van's expression fell further. They seemed very frightened of him. He tried to muster up something to say at the end of their conversation. Unfortunately, he didn't expect the players not to trust him; his programming had told him that they would likely be happy to see him. But they weren't.
He raised his eyebrows when one of them stepped forward. "If you're really our guide, Van, then help us. We aren't made for this type of terrain anymore... But if you hurt anyone, I'll make you into Swiss cheese," she threatened vehemently, brandishing her starting weapon. While he knew that it wouldn't have any effect on him, he drew back slightly.
He almost replied when another brave player interjected. She added a threat, and then demanded that he tell them what was going on. Van blinked several times, the code in his eyes appearing to change direction.
While Van thought of how to respond to the less-than-warm welcome, Chaud frowned slightly. He stepped away from the group, closer to Tech and Crystal. "Hey, guys, it's not his fault we're like this. Right? Go easy on him," he reasoned carefully, though even he still kept a wary eye on their giant guide.
Van allowed himself to smile slightly at being defended. Then, still kneeling, he put a hand to his chest and bowed his head slightly. "I am pleased to meet you, players. I give you my word that I won't do anything to harm any of you. I don't know where the glitch has come from, but I will keep it away from you as much as I can."
~~~ ((Again, I'm so sorry that it's been so long. I let you guys down, and I understand that. I'll try to work out my computer issues A.S.A.P. Thank you.))
((Don'T worry Neon, I just hope we can revive this again ^^))
Flai could not understand why the other girls acted so defiant towards the giant. He did not do anything dangerous until now and after all he should be programmed to help them. She was glad that at least Chaud had the same thing on his mind. Normally she was not a very brave person, but since Van had promised that he would do no harm, she dared to step a little closer, and said: "So, what du you suggest we should do next? There is always some kind of ... uh... tutorials at the beginning of a game...", her words got a little slurry at the end because she just realized that even the tutorial would be oversized for them. "Uh yeah... I think there are more impotant things right now...", she thought aloud, a little embarrased because she did not think enough before talking.
((Yup yup, we shall bring this RP back to life! :3)
"Hey, guys, it's not his fault we're like this. Right? Go easy on him," Chaud reasoned carefully.
'Alright, as much as I don't want to, I need to trust...Van...for now.' Crystal thought to herself, letting out a small sigh. 'And he doesn't seem all that bad..' She watched as Van politely introduced himself, even with her spiteful glare locked on him. She softened up her gaze and let out a long sigh again when Flai suddenly stepped forward.
"So, what do you suggest we should do next? There is always some kind of ... uh... tutorials at the beginning of a game..." she stated, her words slurring together.
"Yeah that's an okay idea..." Crystal replied, rubbing the back of her head. "But what about modes of transport ah? This world is huge and one step to Van is like a couple blocks to us." She gave a nervous laugh and looked over at Raven, who had been awfully quiet.
"Raven, you still with us?" She asked quietly, but audible enough for her to hear. Cyrstal cocked her head to the side and stared at her for a moment.
(I'm baaaaaack! Finally outta school!) -------------------------------------------------------------- "Raven, you still with us?"
Raven tore her gaze from the massive Van to look at Crystal, who was staring sideways at her. "Uh yeah I-I was uh just thinking...yeah," Raven mumbled just loud enough for those closest to her to hear.
She looked back at Van and bit her bottom lip. He seemed nice enough, but still so many things could go wrong...she shook her head, clearing away those thoughts. Van was programmed to assist them, so he wouldn't do anything to hurt them, besides it was just a game. Raven gave Van the friendliest smile she could muster and moved over to stand by Crystal. She wasn't used to feeling so small and the closeness of he fellow gamers gave her a slight feeling of security. And since the other players seemed to have this under control, so she decided to stay quiet. For now anyways. --------------------------------------- Gah, cruddy post, sorry -_-"
((I was trying to wait for the others, but it's been too long. Sorry guys ... )) ~~~~~
Van's face brightened as the players seemed to come over to his side. He was glad to gain a vestige of trust. He knew that their game stood little chance without his help in the first few parts. Otherwise they wouldn't know how to fend for themselves, properly sized or not.
"Player designation 'Flai' is correct. I am here to give you a tutorial on how to defend yourselves in the game. Now, normally the tutorial is automatic, but ... well, I don't think that's a safe route anymore," he admitted with a smile. "I will do my best to help you get accustomed to this world ..." He paused abruptly, as if frozen on a screen. The code in his eyes whirled and blinked as Van appeared to recieve some message from an unseen sender.
Chaud felt a little nervous from that. "Wonder what's going on," he said nonchalantly. He hoped that the glitch wasn't affecting even their guide, the only chance of escaping this strangely realistic world.
Van twitched at the neck and seemed to return to normal. He didn't look happy, though. In fact, his nervous glances at the players that had given him a hard time gave away a lot. "I've just recieved some ah, bad news from the main hard drive ..." he confessed in a mumble. "It seems that the save points are all malfunctioning ..."
Chaud gasped, and put two and two together. "You mean ... we can't use them, even if we find one? What, we're stuck here?!" When the virtual guide averted his gaze, his fears were confirmed. The game's stakes had just gotten much, much higher.
He hated them. His creator's deemed him and all his glitches a "hassle" to the game's play. They had the nerve to scrape him! He floated in the overly full recycle bin, lifeless but aware. The odd corruption in his file code had burried itself into his core, warping his abilities and apperance. His hands clenched, his first movement in days.
"You...you were scrapped," a voice softly stated, "I can bring you back. The game has begun." Before StroBe's code could muster an answer of zeros and ones, his code gave a violent shudder. The data that was StroBe the information broker silently screamed in agony. A searing heat flashed through him in bursts, his code tighting and reforming. He was being dragged from the recycle bin that the humans foolishly forgot to empty.
A metalic scream tore out of StroBe's throat. He flailed, his form flickering slightly. Suddenly, the weightless feeling vanished, StroBe slamming hard into the ground. With a groan, he forced himself to his feet. His code was restored with something strange added, but he had not the time to figure out what was different. He heard voices nearby. Sneaking up, he saw Van, the NPC that took his job somewhat. An impish grin spread across his features.
For some reason Van was kneeling. Perfect for a light act of revenge. After jumping in place slightly to make sure his code was stable, StroBe snuck up on Van not noticing the players.
"Heads up!" he shouted slamming Van's face with a sharp kick.
Flai shuddered when she heard Van saying that there would be no way out of the game. Before she took the whole situation somewhat lightly because there still had been some kind of 'emergency exit'. But since this exit was locked up now, she felt very uneasy. She was just about to ask Van about what they could do now until this problem was fixed, when she suddenly felt the ground trembling. She turned to the source of the noise and saw yet another giant with silver hair, who was kicking their guide straight into the face. She jumped out of fright and tried to get away from the two huge figures, but accidently bumped into Raven, who stood in her way and pulled her to the ground with her. "I-I'm sorry.", she said quickly.
'Holy crow, we're trapped in here...' Raven thought when Van told them about the save point malfunctions. If there was one thing Raven hated, it was being trapped. She could feel the panic bubble up from deep inside her, which caused her to grab onto her stomach and clench her teeth.
Just then she saw another giant appear behind Van. Her initial thought was that the silver haired man was another one of their guides, but she then noticed a mischievous grin plastered on his lips. She turned to see if the the other players had noticed the newcomer but quickly turned back when she felt the ground tremble, just in time to see the silver haired giant land a swift kick in Van's face.
Before she even had time to react, one of the other players bumped into her and dragged her to the ground. She let out and "Oof!" when she collided with the hard surface.
"I-I'm sorry," she hear Flai say.
"Ugh, don't worry about it," Raven said while rolling onto our stomach and looking back up at the giant that had assaulted Van. "What the Hell?!" she shouted, somewhat hoping that the giant hadn't heard her, but at the same time wishing he had.
"Whoa whoa whoa..." Crystal mumbled aloud, backing up and shaking her head. 'No SAVE POINTS?!' she thought in her mind nervously. She looked at the others players faces, most masked with fear, and others....well...she couldn't really tell. 'So...wha-what happens when we-' A sudden rumbling tore Crystal away from her thoughts and focused her attention on another giant guide coming towards them. "Oh god...our first ambush..." she said aloud when she saw the mischievous glint in the silver-haired beast's eyes and the devious smile balanced on his lips. "Heads up!" The giant said as he sharply kicked Van in the face, causing her to cover her eyes; and for some reason, Crystal felt pissed off by this. She turned her head briefly when she saw Flai bump into Raven, causing them to both crash into the Earth. "What the Hell?!" She heard Raven shout up at the new giant. "Yeah! What the hell is right," She yelled up at him. "What the hell IS your problem?!" Crystal walked angrily, and cautiously, towards the towering Van, and locked her glare on Strobe. 'Oh yeah, what a brilliant idea,' her common sense yelled warningly in her mind, 'get closer to the giants that cause danger...BRILLIANT idea Crystal...'But she merely shook her head and continued glaring up at him. Sure it wasn't the brightest thing to do, but it sure made her feel damn good. ---- (Hmm...Not my best post in the world, but it'll do. )
Van looked up at StroBe's surprise greeting, his eyebrows raising. He barely had time to gasp when he saw the attack. The impact snapped his neck back with a resounding crick. He started to fall, but had a constant presence of mind. He managed to angle his recoil so that he didn't fall on the players ... he had a feeling they wouldn't like that.
He hit the ground on his side with a soft thump and a vocal "Ooof!" He put one hand to his face, which was already righting itself after the kick. He put a hand on the ground to push himself up, and flinched when he saw that Crystal had approached him. Then, he looked with confusion up at StroBe.
"You! You shouldn't be here!" he exclaimed. "And you almost hurt the players!" he added as he pushed himself back up to a low crouch, keeping the players in his peripheral vision.
~~~ "Shit!" Chaud gasped automatically. He'd watched the other giant NPC approach apprehensively, and flinched back when he suddenly attacked Van. "H-hey! What's the idea here?!" he yelled boldly, looking up at the new arrival. He unholstered one of his throwing knives just as a precaution. He wasn't sure whether he'd be able to use them without hearing Van's tutorial first ... if it wouldn't work until that was done like in some games.

StroBe peered near Van's knees at the players. His two-toned opposite eyes went wide in curosity. The background music went from birds singing over the slight breeze to sharp techno tones that showed how interested the NPC really was. But Van's statement did not go unheard.
"I'm not. But what is that to you golden boy?" StroBe sneered looming over the guide and the players. He poited an accusing finger to the tiny humans. The music went from light to dark organ music.
"You humans, my creators, scrapped me. Why should I let you walk away unharmed?"

Van gaped to hear StroBe address him so. An outcast program, talk to him that way! But he became wary when the music changed again. When StroBe began to speak to the players, Van's defenses kicked in. He stood back to his full height. "You will leave them alone," he said, his voice full of authority.

Crystal heaved a small sigh of relief to see that Van was somewhat okay, though that didn't cause her glare on StroBe to lighten up. Her heart fluttered its way up to her throat and her pulse quickened when StroBe pointed an accusing finger at her and the players direction.
"You humans, my creators, scrapped me. Why should I let you walk away unharmed?"
The statement made her flinch a bit, but she still held her ground and crossed her arms, tapping her foot lightly. "Uh..because w-we're not the exact humans who actually h-harmed you..." She yelled up loudly to him, though there wasn't anymore anger in her voice.
She backed up a bit when she saw Van stand up to his full height, but she wasn't as afraid as she would've been if she hadn't known Van was on their side.

(( Durp. I'm late x( )) (( Edit: THe eye shotting has been cut out. ))
Tech still wasn't as trusting as the other where to Van. She was still pretty pissed off about the whole ordeal of being at a size where she needed assistance; the news about the save points just added kindle to the rage. Stuck in a game with a bunch of pansies. It could get any worse.
But it did.
An unfamiliar rumbling send the weapon specialist fling on her butt. A silver haired giant appeared right after the the quake and spartan kick Van right in the face. It was sorta hard not laughing at that (Tech think violence is funny.) She would have said that the new guy was okay in her book but what he said after a quick exchange of words with their guide really got her steamed.
"You humans, my creators, scrapped me. Why should I let you walk away unharmed?" he rumbled pointing an accusatory finger at her and her friends
Being bold and stupid again, Tech romped over to the newer giant and began to kick him in the shoe multple times.
"Now look here! I didn't come here to have some wannabe scrap blame me for some bull I didn't do! And I'll be damned if you'll blame my friends for it to. now,if you like your mis-colored eyes,you better git,cause I sure as hell ain't afraid of you and I sure as hell don't miss."
