Neon and me want to start a new RP which will play on Planet Terna.
First some background information:
There are two races living on this planet. The eastern hemisphere is home of the Grodi. They are quite similar to us humans on earth. Grodi have a strong belief in technology and are not into spirituality at all.
The western hemisphere is occupied by the Tigo, a race of tiny people of about 5 to 6 inches in size. Religion has a very important role in their life and society. They are able to use magic to manipulate the world around them. Mostly it is used to make plants grow or to heal injuries ans illnesses. Because the soil in the western hemisphere contains some special minerals, the plants and trees don't grow as much as they would do on the Grodi-side. So everything in the land of the Tigo is in their scale.
Grodi and Tigo had a quite close contact with each other over many centuries. They had a lively exchange of culture and technology. The Tigo, who all have a big amount of curiosity by nature helped to inspire their bigger neighbors. And the Grodi in return offered their technological knowledge to the little ones.
But soon this was overshadowed by the ideas of a military party in the Grodi-government. They saw the Tigo as inferior beings and soon this idea was spread in nearly all heads. One fateful day, the Grodi attacked the western hemisphere and killed or enslaved the Tigo.
For over 300 years the Tigo lived a live in slavery but then gathered all their strenght to strike back for their freedom. After a long war, the Grodi were defeated and felt utterly disgraced because they lost to such a tiny people. Both sides decided that it would be best if there would be no further contact between them at all.
A great wall was built around the biggest city of the Grodi Grodan, where nearly 85% of the whole population lived at that time. So the Grodi, who were in the city, should never see their neighbors again. Over the years, both governments did everything to erase everything that reminded of the other race and soon, both people forgot about each other.
But of course there were exceptions. The Grodi soon realized that they needed the little ones as a source of inspiration. So the elite of the Grodi made a contract with the Tigo: every leader gets a personal Tigo and in return, they gave them plans to build technological devices.
The head of the Ministry of inner security in Grodan had his own plans with the tiny people. Without the knowing of the own government, he used the offsprings of these personal Tigo to turn them into spies. Soon the population of these spies increased and was enough to fill a whole little city inside the building of the Ministry of the Inner security. All of them have an extreme loyalty to the head of the Ministry and do anything to prevail the order in Grodan.
Okay, now about my character:
Name: Atera Nardin Age: 20 Profession: Mechanic, works as a technician in a small company
-Appearance: Short blond hair, pale blue eyes, average size (about 5,5 feet). Often wears overalls or wide clothes like sweaters and long pants. She is not particularly pretty, but mostly because she does not take much care of her looks. -Family: Is an only child. Her mother is a nurse and her father owns a small liquor shop. She still lives with her parents. -Status in society: Atera and her parents have an average status in the grodanic society. Like many other Grodi they are not rich but since all of them earn money, they can make a good living.
Character: Atera has no high education, which does not bother her very much. She knows everything she has to know to do a good job in building and repairing things. Most of her friends are male, who rarely see her as a woman, because she often does not act like one. In her room and at her working place she is very tidy and only feels good when everything is in its place. If something is missing, she can get very angry. She is a very straightforward person and often upsets people by insulting them unintentionally. Other than many Grodi, she got a job she likes. One could say that she is quite content with her life and would not have any reason to oppose the system. Or does she?

And my character:
Name: Colfax Drios Age: 21 -Tigo Spy for the Ministry of Inner Security Appearance: Short-clipped dark purple hair with a green birthmark-streak, green-grey eyes, tan skin; thin, fit build from training; 5 1/4 inches tall; Wears black clothes, relatively close-fitting for stealth with a few tools of the trade on his belt Family: He likely has several siblings through the breeding program, but has no real affiliation with any of his relatives; his life is his job. Character: He takes his job very seriously, because to him that's all there is. He's very intelligent and quick-thinking, and well-trained in stealth. He's not very talkative, and even less trusting ... he trusts the few Grodi he works with very sparingly. He is partially deaf in one ear, but it has yet to slow him down on missions. He makes up for it by observing his surroundings with extra care.
His mission is to spy on Atera to monitor whether she's using her skills as a mechanic against the ministry. There is suspicion that she's trying to affect the wall in some way.

Atera chewed on her tasteless SynToast and made a very displeased face. It was not the food which made her angry, since she never experienced anything else then the products of the SynFood factory. Today her father was to blame for her bad mood. She was staring daggers at him, while he sat across of her read the newspaper. After a minute of staring, he looked up at her.
"Come on, I told you that I'm sorry for a hundred times." "And I told you for a thousand times not to touch anything in my room without asking me.", she said back, taking another bite from the bread. "But you weren't there and I really needed that wrench in the shop." "If you had asked me to fix the sink, the wrench would still be here and not in one of Grodan's sewer pipes.", Atera growled. Her father looked away and up to the kitchen clock. "Don't you have to go to work now?", he tried to change the subject. Atera glanced at the clock too and saw that it was indeed time to get going. "Yes.", was the only thing she said before she put her plate into the sink and fetched the backpack that was waiting for her next to the door. "See you tonight, dad" , she murmured and closed the door behind her. She lived in one of the newer blocks of district 4, which were not as run down as most parts of the city. But like any other building here, they were made of gray concrete and not even the blue cloudless sky could make the city look friendly in any way. But Atera was used to it. With her pale gray sweater and dark pants, she merged perfectly with her surroundings. After she passed two blocks, she could see a few other Grodi waiting at the streetcar stop. They all had a somehow dull expression on their face and showed not a single spark of motivation. At least Atera looked forward to her day at work. Soon the streetcar came near with some loud creaking noises. One could see that the car was older than Atreas grandfather. She got on and sat down on one of the plastic chairs next to a window.
After about twenty minutes, the streetcar reached the outskirts of district 19, the center of science and technology in Grodan and her workplace. The company she worked in was not far away from the stop. It was a workshop with four technicians who repaired nearly everything the costumers wanted to be repaired: tele-screens, radios, cars, air conditions and so on.
Atrea entered the workshop and was greeted by her boss, who immediately ordered her to get to work. She quickly followed the order and walked over to her work bench where every tool was placed exactly where she had left it the day before. The only thin that was different, where a few broken devices that waited to be fixed. She looked them over and gathered everything she needed.

Colfax concentrated on his task. He carefully snuck along the top of a shelf in the repair shelf, always keeping behind one of the tools or devices stored there. Most of it had gathered a thin layer of dust, enough to serve as a good place for him to hide while still observing his target.
This was only the second day he'd been assigned to observe Atera Nardin. He'd only been briefed the day before, and so it stuck fresh in his mind. The case was young so far. His goal was to catch her in the crime quickly to snuff out any sense of rebellion here.
He crouched behind a metal tin of small scrap pieces. He watched, completely still, as his charge entered her workplace and set to work. She harmlessly set to work repairing a few trinkets that had been left for her. Colfax knew better than to be put off the trail by that. He knew that, at any second she could give away a clue about any ulterior motives she had. With all the mechanical resources and her knowledge at her fingertips, Atera was dangerous. Dangerous especially to Colfax's home of the Ministry of Inner Security.
His plan for now was to scout her routine at work. Then, when she left, he would hop on the next transport built specially for Tigo spies like himself. He'd beat her home and watch for clues then. At his briefing, he'd been warned that it might be difficult to find signs of her suspected work against the security of Grodan.
Colfax shifted slightly where he knelt on the high shelf. The night before, when he'd arrived, Atera had only stayed for an hour before her shift ended. Colfax had done a quick sweep of her workbench area, but found nothing worth reporting. Not that he could; while in the workshop the various machinery provided too much interference to be able to send any communications back, even if it was ever safe to do so. Having anticipated that, he'd been sent with minimal communication hardware and an order to report only sparingly and when something big happened.
Now came the wait. Colfax, known for his patience even for a Tigo spy, observed every change in the scene below, constantly alert. He felt the thrill of the hunt, knowing that his work here contributed to the safety of everyone. ~~~~~ ((Ugh, sorry to take so long. And sorry if it's bad. D; ))

(( Don't worry. This is a game after all, so no need to put you under pressure ^^ And don'T worry, your post is good ^w^))
Atera had just fixed half of the pieces that she was assigned to repair when her boss shouted from the office: “Atera! Take your break now. I won't pay you for doing overtime!”“ She looked op from her work bench up to the wall clock next to the shelf. She did not even notice how fast time went by. Like always she had been totally absorbed in her work. And moreover she normally had not feeling for timing at all.
Atera glanced at the next piece on the table. It was a very rare kind of portable computer and she did not know very much of the specialties or quirks of this device. So she walked over to the file storage to look for any construction plan for it. Normally the government had to register the constructions of every single technical device in the city that was in the stores. And after a few seconds, she found what she looked for. “There you are.” , she said somewhat happily. “Atera! I don't hear you taking your break!”, growled her boss quite angrily. “I'm off in a second, don't worry boss!” Sighing she grabbed her bag to walk over to the convenience store for her lunch. Before she left through the door, she froze. Had she seen something moving in that shelf from the corner of her eye? For a few seconds Atera turned around and stared at the shelf, waiting if something would move up there. But all remained still, as one would expect from tools and old radios. “Maybe just a critter... we should put up those Puni-traps again.”, she murmured and went off to buy her lunch.

((Oh my goodness! I am so awful. :C Sorry to take so long to reply ... )) ~~~~~ Colfax had quickly lulled into a sort of trance as he waited. So far Atera's actions offered nothing of interest for his report. He watched as she fixed item after item, ranging in quite a variety of things. So, when her boss yelled from the other room, Colfax jumped slightly. He raised his eyebrows to hear how much time had already passed.
He glanced up at the door to make sure no one was going to come in to follow this voice. Then, he looked back at his target. She had moved right on to the next thing; even he had a hard time recognizing it. He squinted at the computer as she searched out some papers for its use. He got absorbed enough in trying to figure it out from his high vantage point, that he forgot for a moment to watch Atera. He barely had time to dart back behind an old radio when she looked up. Breathing heavily, he listened for her to leave.
Then, he sank to a sitting position. He, Colfax, had almost been seen. Just like that, he'd dropped his guard. He smacked his forhead with his palm, silently scolding himself. It wasn't like him to get distracted, even a little bit. He shook himself off and took a deep breath. He couldn't dwell on his mistake now, or it might weigh him down later. "Critter," he muttered distastefully, long after he was sure she'd left.

((Don't worry ^^ I know that you have some troubles with your computer, so I expected that you can't reply right away. And your great post makes up for it ^^))
Atera left the shop in a quite angry mood. Even the SynBars, which are known to be the cheapest food of all, had gotten very expensive by now. The shop keep told her that there was some kind of shortage and thus he had to sell them for a higher price. She was no stingy person, but she could have saved her money if she had not forgotten to take some food with her from home. But her father had made her to mad by losing her wrench, so she forgot to think of it. Although all three of her family were working, they all were a little short on money during the last month. Before they could easily afford all they needed, but now nearly everything had become more expensive because of several shortages.
While still chewing on her bar, she walked back into the workshop and sat down on a chair next to her work bench, putting her bag next to it. "Sometimes this city really s***s", she mumbled and slightly kicked against the shelf, which made a faint creaking sound.
After finishing her break, she got back to work. She studied the construction plan very attentively. For any normal Grodi, these plans would have been absolutely cryptic. All those lines, numbers and letters only made sense to a trained technician like she was. If she had a plan and the needed material, she could build anything. Atera did not need more than an hour to fix the computer and then moved on to the other devices that were much less challenging.
Like every day, the time passed very quickly and as her eight hours were over, she cleaned up her work place until everything was in its place again. Then she fetched her bag and shouted a goodbye at her boss's office. She had to hurry if she wanted to reach the last streetcar, so she fell into a sprint, which made her bag bounce against her um comfortably.
Luckily she got to the stop just in time and found some place to stand without being squeezed between the other Grodi, who were crammed into the car. The sky was getting darker now, and drenched the gray buildings into an even darker and depressing tone.
As she reached the door to her flat, she unlocked it and stepped into an empty apartment. Her father was still at the shop and her mother was probably working overtime in the hospital.
Atera placed her bag in her room, which was probably the tidiest one in the whole district. Most of the place was taken by her bed, which was covered with a light green blanket and her own private work bench, which stood opposite to the sleeping place. From the work bench, she could look out of a narrow window, which did not let much light in. In the rear stood a small closet and a shelf with some broken or already repaired devices she found in the trash. all things and tools were neatly placed, so she would know immediately of anything was missing.
Quickly she picked some clean clothes from her closet and walked out of the room to take a shower.

Colfax went without opening his small ration; he didn't know when he'd truly need it. He took the time while the room was empty to rest and reflect. This target so far hadn't shown any great signs of rebellious behaviour. He'd have to look closer. The sooner he finished up here, the sooner he could get on to the next mission.
He perked up when he heard her reenter. He raised to a crouch behind the old radio that made his hiding place, scowling as she cursed the city. He thought that she ought to be more grateful for the protection the city offered her. Of course, he couldn't dwell on that for too long. When she kicked the shelf, he felt the vibration of it and jumped slightly. He shook his head and cursed himself for not realizing it was coming. Even though he couldn't really have known, he was pretty harsh on himself. You had to be, in a game like this one.
He settled back to spying when Atera turned back to her workbench. He looked over the blueprints that she navigated like an expert. He'd gotten a very short lesson on reading them, but overall it still didn't make sense. He doubted that reading a construction plan would help him on this mission. He'd just have to observe everything else with extra care.
When she finished with her workday without giving a trace of dissenting activity, Colfax frowned. As she went about cleaning, he backed away from his watching point and made his way towards his well-hidden tigo-sized exit. From there, he entered the old pipeway that had been converted to a transport network for Tigo spies such as himself. He directed it to a building near Atera's flat, the closest he could get. From there he hurried across eaves and more hidden halls until he reached the house. She'd only beaten him there by a little bit ...
Breathing heavily, Colfax found his way inside; he'd never been in this particular style of building, and from the looks of things no tigo had for a long time. He finally found his way to what seemed to be a hallway, wiping cobwebs from his hands and arms. He frowned. The door had led him to the floor, not a higher vantage point ... he considered going back to find another possible way, but didn't like the idea of getting lost in the walls of some stupid apartment.
Keeping close to the wall, he tilted his head to favor his better ear. She had gone into the bathroom, the door for which stood closed just near him ... running water told him she was quite occupied. He glanced around, making sure no other Grodi were in the flat, before closing his doorway and stepping out in the open. He followed the hallway past the bathroom door, and into the only other room with a light turned on. His intuition had led him true; this was her room, and he allowed a faint, triumphant smirk to alight on his face to find her own private workbench. This was surely the place she worked against the Ministry of Inner Security.
After a short job of improvising a "ladder" from a lamp cord, Colfax stood atop the workbench. It was impeccably tidy; of course, she couldn't have made his job easy by leaving something incriminating lying about. He'd have to search.
He kept toward the wall as he snooped about, glancing once at the window. He made a huge mistake by walking past one of her tools without looking it over well enough--part of it was very strongly magnetic. One of the carbiners on his belt, hooked at his hip, immediately yanked him sideways to stick to the thing. After wincing with surprise, Colfax started to struggle, pushing against the surface with all his might. The metal bit just didn't want to let go.
Fortunately, he finally freed himself. Unfortunately, he knocked over the tool in the process. With a hissed curse, Colfax retreated from it as quickly as possible to duck behind the lamp. He couldn't risk staying out in the open in case Atera heard it fall. He took some deep breaths to calm himself from that very close call.
((Thanks for understanding. Hope this is okay))

((no prob ^^ And I really love your post. that magnet-Idea is awesome! btw. Is it okay for you if I draw our characters? I would really love to ^^))
Atera was finished showering and walked out of the bathroom, still rubbing her hair with a towel. She was about to walk into the kitchen to warm up the soup her father had left for her on the counter, but then she heard a noise. It sounded like something metallic had fallen over. And it came from her room. She wondered if she had let her window open and the wind caused something to fall. But then she was sure she didn't. "There is nothing in my Room that falls over on its own.", she thought.
Now she was at full alert: Were there thieves in the apartment? It was very rare that thieves came to district 4, since the people here mostly had nothing that was worth stealing. Even if it was unlikely that there was someone else in the flat, she took a broomstick from behind the kitchen door and walked to her room. If anyone was there, she would be prepared.
She opened the door with a loud bang and jumped into her room shouting: "Who is there!?". It only took her seconds to realize that nobody else was in there. Suddenly she felt very stupid, standing there with a broomstick, ready to attack. She leaned the cleaning utensil to the wall and looked around.
a single look at her work bench told her which thing had made that noise. The heavy magnet she used to pick up screws and other small metal pieces lay on its side and not in the place where she left it. Thinking she picked up the magnet and scanned the room with her eyes. She could not make out anything that could have caused this. "Maybe there are critters here, too. I should search the apartment for Pinu-holes tomorrow.", she said and weighed the tool in her hands. Somehow she could not believe that one of those small critters would walk around on her work bench, but for now it was the only logical explanation.
Although she was still hungry, she felt the urge to work on some pieces. And she knew exactly what would be best now: She took an old mechanical doll out of her shelf. It still had all limbs, but the electrics, that made it move the eyes and head were broken. When she was a little girl, she also had one of these Tigo-dolls. She did not know why they were called Tigo, maybe it was the name of a company that produced them.
For a delicate piece like this, she needed more light, so she switched on her desk lamp. She was about to move her hand away to get the needed tools, but then she froze. The Light showed a very strange shadow... it had the shape of a Grodi... just that it was too small to be produced by one. "What is this?", she asked herself and moved the lamp away.

((Thank you! And my goodness, I'd be honored if you drew them!))
Colfax listened carefully, his heart going a mile a minute. Crouched behind the lamp, he silently prayed that his mistake would go unnoticed. He'd made a lot of those lately ... he scowled and reprimanded himself. He was not doing the best he could. Perhaps he needed some refreshing on his training ...
His thoughts interrupted when the door burst open. Even though he knew he couldn't be seen, Colfax ducked his head and nearly hiccuped with surprise from the noise. He couldn't risk looking up to see Atera, but he knew she held something, probably a weapon of some sort. At least it sounded like she merely thought there was a burglar. So he hoped she would be thrown off the trail a bit.
He had enough of a vantage point to see when she retrieved the fallen magnet. For a moment he marveled that she knew exactly what had fallen. Then, he froze to listen intently to what she had to say. He felt relieved that she thought a Puni had caused it. But, at the same time, he had enough pride to be annoyed.
Now he only hoped she'd leave the room again, since she was over her burglar scare. His hopes sank when she instead sat at the bench to work on something. He didn't see her reach out to switch on the lamp, but he found out quickly enough. He looked up in surprise when it lit up, and looked away quickly, shutting his eyes tightly from the brightness. He was momentarily blinded.
Unfortunately for Colfax, he was still very disoriented when the lamp was moved away, so he didn't notice for a few seconds. He blinked until his sight returned, and jumped back at the sight that greeted him. He looked up at his would-be target, utter surprise on his face. How could he have been found so easily? It was ridiculous and outrageous. Knowing he'd completely blown his cover, his only option now was to get out as soon as possible.
Gritting his teeth, Colfax backed up until he was against the wall, and turned to run behind other tools and things, aiming for the edge of the workbench closest to the door. If he could make it to the tigo-door back in the hall, he'd be free and in the clear.

((okay then ^^I'll post them as soon I have them ready ^^))
Atera froze as she saw what was hiding behind her lamp. Her first thought was "It's a Tigo..." but then she saw that it moved, and breathed. So it could not be doll. First it... or he... looked like he was blinded and blinked. She did not know how to react, this was somethin one would never expect... Then suddely the tiny Grodi seemed to regain his sight and jumped back, which made her flinch. Seeing someone move who is that tiny looked strange.
He did not seem to be too happy about that situation, judging by his angry expression. Then he backed away and broke into a run over her workbench.
Atera now acted unconciously. Her brain told her that she would have to keep him from getting away. At least he broke into her room without permission and she definetly wanted to know why. She jumped up from her chair and quickly pushed over some tools to block his way, but he was too fast and was now very near to the edge, probably aiming for the still opened door. Now she made a mad dash to the door, slamming it shut and sat down in front of it, also blocking the door crack. She looked up to spot the little man, but could not see him anymore. "You better come out now. I will not move from my spot until I know what you are doing here.", she said as threatening as possible. Of course she could not sit there forever, especially because she was getting hungry again. But she would find a way to block the door otherwise.

Colfax's heart pounded as he ran. Several times, the objects Atera knocked over nearly stopped him. He vaulted over a couple, and ducked under others. Some startled him enough to simply sprint out of their way; they'd have knocked him out cold otherwise. He almost smirked at his own agility. Even against an adult Grodi, he was holding his own!
For the moment. He was inches from the edge of the bench when Atera caught on and rushed to the door. When the door slammed shut, he skidded to a halt and even did a roll backwards. The noise rang in his ears as he righted himself. Even as the woman sat down in front of the door and spoke to him, he darted back away from that end of the workbench. Of course he wouldn't give her an answer.
When he was absolutely confident that she couldn't reach him from where she sat, he turned his back. He made it to the other end of the worktable easily, and stopped to think of what to do. Since that door was out of the question now, he had to search for a new way out, and quickly. He regarded the window briefly. It was shut tightly, and no Tigo could push it open. He did a survey of the room, trying to see a new way out, or at least somewhere to hide.
His eyes lingered on the shelf. He knew that the possibility of finding a Tigo-door back into the walls there was slim. But, if he could get there without notice, it would be a great place to hide, with so many trinkets and found items on each level. It was close enough to the bench, certainly, though at a right angle. He'd have to be careful in getting there.
He pulled one of his few pieces of equipment from his belt. It was a long, retractable wire with a strong hook at one end; he could fire the hook at something to pull himself towards it. It would be fast and quiet. He had a good chance of making the jump to the shelf before Atera moved and noticed.
After the few seconds of consideration, Colfax set his new plan into action. He aimed for a higher level of the shelf, which had the most items likely to support the wire. It shot out with a very low whip! noise and caught on the side of some sort of electronic device with a lot of wires sticking out one side. It looked very heavy and sturdy, so Colfax prepared himself for the pull.
The wire started to pull him towards the shelf, but his feet only slid a few inches on the workbench before things went wrong. The item he'd snared was not quite so heavy as he thought. In fact, it seemed to be nearly hollow with how light it was, for the wire instead pulled it towards the edge of the shelf. When it fell, it pulled the wire with it and Colfax was forced to let go. His surprise and his own momentum made him fall down. He looked at his mildly-burned hands in utter surprise, blinking when the device fell to the floor with a very audible noise. How could every single plan go wrong?!
Not one to give up, Colfax scrambled to his feet again. He retreated back towards the tools on the workbench, trying to find one that he could shelter behind. Nothing seemed to be quite good enough for the purpose, so his search became a little more frantic as the seconds ticked by, and he looked around to see where the Grodi was, very anxious.
((Hope it's okay!))

((sorry for taking so long... I was on a little trip that stretched out a bit ^^ ) Atera sat there and tried to be as quiet as possible, to be able to hear any movements of the tiny guy. But he seemed to be very sneaky. She hoped that there was no other way for him to leave the room. But Atera was quite sure that there were no holes and the window was shut tight. For about a minute, nothing seemed to happen, but then she saw something move. Computer part which she had placed on her shelf began to move towards the edge and then fell down to the ground with an audible cracking noise. She jumped up as if she was stung by an insect. Then she stood still and observed every inch of the room. Then she saw him! He was moving on the workbench, obviously looking for a place to hide. Now she had to act fast! Thanks to her tidiness she knew where she would find what she needed without looking for it. As quickly as she could, she snatched a big transparent plastic box and placed it over him and some of her tools. Before she cared about looking after him, she placed her heavy toolbox on the top to make sure that he could not lift the box on his own. A little panting she sat down in her chair in front of the bench and looked at the plastic box. Atera could see him move, but he stayed behind the tools, so she could not see him properly. The Grodi thought about something she could say. Now this little creature was at her mercy, and she was not quite happy that he broke into her room without permission. If she did not have that typical lack of curiosity she probably would have wondered about the shier existence of something so small and Grodi-like. She sucked in a deep breath and then said: "Well...I don't know how much air you have in there... I would say you tell me why you are here very fast, if you want me to let you out of there again.", she said sternly and tried to look as serious as possible.

((Hope you had fun on your vacation! )) ~~~ Colfax tried his very best to dash out of the way of the box. Unfortunately, he hadn't seen it coming until it was too late. He ended up coming to a shaky halt, barely avoiding smacking into the wall of plastic. He backed up from it, searching his belt for something, anything, that might help him escape. He growled with frustration, knowing there was nothing of any help. He flinched and looked up when the heavy tool chest was set on the box. Scowling, he retreated to hide behind the tools that were trapped with him. Crouching behind something that he knew didn't fully hide him, he waited. He heard her sit down, and then things fell silent for a while. Colfax took the few seconds to catch his breath and think rapidly about his situation. He felt rather stupid at this point. It all boiled down to really bad luck, he decided. He jumped slightly when the Grodi spoke. He frowned and scoffed at her demand. Threats or not, he wasn't that easy to break. At least he had that advantage on his side. Besides, he didn't really believe her threat. He had never ever had a reason to believe that any Grodi would just kill him. He leaned around his hiding place. He tried his best to focus on her through the somewhat-distorted plastic, and send her a glare that made his silent intentions clear.

((oh yes I did X3, thank you ^^))
Atera narrowed her eyes to see the tiny Grodi and his reaction to her words more clearly. She could barely see him peeking around one of the tools. But she noticed that he did not look very friendly. Well who could blame him, he was trapped under a plastic box and she could not imagine that anybody would be happy about such a situation.
He did not answer to her threat and so Atera thought that he either was not able to speak, or stupid and stubborn. She frowned and rwally did not know what to do. She did not really like the idea to have the small guy suffocate under there, but she just could not let him go. Maybe he was an expensive experiment of the government and they would probably pay a lot to get him back... this would solve a lot of problems for her family.
Atera took a glance at her work bench, which was a complete mess now. Maybe if she would clean up a bit, she could get an idea. Before she stood up, she took another glance at the tiny guy and then began to put everything back in its place. As she looked over to him again, she had an idea.
"You know... if the air in there gets less and less... you will first faint and then die... I could get my hands on you easily when you pass out. And then I could find many other ways to make you stay here. So if you don't want to end up in a cage or something, you should start to speak.", she said and grinned, quite content with her idea.

Colfax waited in his spot, stubbornly silent. He shifted a few times to keep his eyes on Atera as she stood from the bench. At first it confused him that she simply tidied the surface, but then he realized that it shouldn't matter to him. He took her apparent disinterest as a good distraction. He started to think again about what to do to get himself out of this royal mess.
His gaze snapped back up to her when she started to speak again. He narrowed his eyes at what she said. He knew it to be the truth, and that didn't bode well for him. Her grin only worked to annoy the hell out of him. He stood slowly, stepping out from where he hid to face her. Crossing his arms, Colfax answered, "I have nothing to say to you! Your threats don't mean anything to me." It was a brave front, but he was trained that way. Besides, if he simply spilled all the information he had, he'd get into a lot of trouble later. Best to wait and escape without compromising any security.

Atera almost dropped what he had in her hands, when she suddenly heard him talk. Firstly she was surprised that he talked at all and secondly because his voice sounded not like one would expect from such a small being. It was not high pitched at all, it sounded quite deep and mature... like a voice she should take serious. And it also made her think about her actions... If he was a talking person... a feeling person... she should not imprison him, and not in a way that could put his life in danger. Although it was quite common in Grodan, to lock people away for lesser crimes than breaking into houses, she was not one who was fond of this procedure. But she also could not just let him get away with it... Atria feared that she could miss the moment when he would faint and then she would be responsible for taking someones life...
She sat down in her chair again and looked at him. "That are some brave words for someone in your position... ", she tried to think of something more she could say, but everything in her head sounded like threats and she felt bad enough already. It was strange to her that he did not show any fear. Maybe he just tried to be brave, that it was just a facade...
Then she had an idea how to keep him in that place without putting his life in danger. She took the biggest and most stable screwdriver she had and a rubber mallet. "This could get a little loud in there, better cover your ears.", she said and then got to work. she put the end of the screwdriver on the top of the plastic box and then slammed the hammer on its handle. It took about tree hits until she had created a hole in the material. She repeated the procedure six more times until she had created some air holes. After putting her tools away, she sat down again. "Well, now you can stay in there until you give me a satisfying answer. And you can be sure that I have a lot of patience.", she stated and crossed her arms.

Colfax watched her reactions carefully. She seemed surprised that he could even speak at all. He wondered why; there was no reason that he couldn't talk. There were only reasons not to talk in the first place. He watched her closely as she sat down, narrowing his eyes warily. Her words made him scoff and roll his eyes. Even so, he waited for her next statement to come, fully expecting more threats.
He shifted uncomfortably as the silence drew on. Colfax hated being unable to read people's faces. And this Atera was proving all too cryptic. Of course, that only confirmed his belief that she must be experienced in dissent against the inner security.
When Atera picked up the tools, Colfax actually took a few steps back in surprise. Before she spoke, he honestly assumed they would be used on him. The mallet in particular looked very intimidating. Then, he glanced at her after her explanation, a little confusion sneaking onto his face. Then, when she started to pound on the screwdriver, he jumped back even further. After pressing his back to the farthest wall from her, Colfax sank to a sitting position. He held one hand over his good ear, watching her work. In truth, each time the screwdriver spiked through, the sight was enough to make him cringe.
When she was done, Colfax took a few deep breaths, taking his hand away from his ear. It rang faintly. He scowled at her words when he heard them. Partially, though, he was embarassed at his own reaction. He quickly stood where he was, and crossed his arms defiantly as well. "I also have a lot of patience," he countered easily.

Atera saw that he had backed away to the farthest corner. Probably the hammering was quite to loud for him, so she could not blame him to seek shelter in any way. But then he jumped up into his former defiant position. She figured that both of them acted way to stubborn to get anywhere in this situation. But before she could say anything in response, she heard the door to the apartment opening: Her mother just came home. Atera stood up quickly and took another glance towards her little prisoner to be sure that he could not get out. then she left her room and closed the door behind her to go greeting her mum.
She looked very exhausted, which was to be expected from a nurse who had just worked 14 hours straight. "Hi mum.", Atera said and took her mother's bag to free her from the weight. "Hello dear. Did you have a good day at work?", she asked and hang her jacket on a hook near the door. "Yes, all went well. But you don't look like you had a good time." "It's just sad to see the people of the workers class suffer because they can't afford the medication.", her mother stated. "But let's not talk about this. Did you eat already?" Atera now suddenly remembered how hungry she was. "No, not yet. Just sit down while I warm up the soup."
A few minutes later Atera and her mother sat in the kitchen and ate their soup, conversing a little. But every now and then she looked in the direction of her room. She wondered if the small Grodi also was hungry. While slurping the hot liquid in, she thought of possible ways to give him food without risking to let him escape. But she could not think of anything. Maybe she would get an idea later.
After dinner her mother went straight to bed, because she was extremely tired. They said goodnight and Atera returned to her room, with a plate full of bread crumbs. She put it down next to the box, just to have it around when she found a way to give it to him. She sat down on her chair again and looked at him. Being stubborn did not help so far. So she tried something different:
"All right, If you don't want to talk about the reason why you are here... then we could talk about other things.", she suggested. "Maybe about hobbies... there have to be some things you like to do, right? I like fixing things... I would like to invent something new, too. But I did not have any good ideas so far." Atera really hoped that she could break the ice with that attempt at a normal conversation.
