I looked up into Arrow's warm blue eyes and finally broke. Shivering and sniffling I fell to my knees before him. His hand swiftly came to rest against my hunched back.
"Why?" I demanded, "Why has he changed so much? Why has everyone changed so much and yet, I'm the same? The same foolish human..."
"Amy," Arrow interupted sliding me a bit forward towards him, "You are not a fool and you are not the same. And if it were not for you, I would not have stopped running away and Catra...well he'd still be hiding from his whole country. You have done so much just by showing us who we are, and who we can be. Don't you see?" I glanced up at his tattooed face and warm smile as he bent over the table. His red hair, longer than I remembered, cascaded around me.
"But he still did not have to do that," I whined swatting a curl away from my face, "Keelan still retained his ass qualities."
"He is coping the best way he knows how. Which is pushing everyone away. This war isn't bringing the best out of him," Arrow muttered, his smile faltering. We sat there in silence for a bit before the large, heavy doors were pushed open.
"Sir," Laer's voice weakly called, "Lord Catra is calling for you. I can watch Amy if you desire. Captain Gill is on duty in the meeting room." His short cropped honey toned hair hadn't changed a bit, still short and spiky. His red painted armor glinted feircly in the kitchen's meager light.
"I forgot," sighed Arrow with a regretful gaze, "I'm a Lord now so I must attend the war meeting. Amy will you pardon me?" He scooped me up into his hand and stood with me in tow. Before I could answer, he held me towards the knight.
"Do not let Keelan see her. Do. Not. Or else," the red-head growled to Laer.
"I really do not like the sir," Laer huffed ushering me onto his gloved palm, "So the less I see of him the better." Arrow ruffled my hair and clapped Laer on the shoulder before exiting the room, his long flowing indigo robes trailing behind him like water. His walk seemed burdened and sad.
"This war is not going to end well," Laer sighed slouching a bit, "I would offer to take you to the study, but Keelando has holed himself in there. So any other choices? I'm sure you remember this place." I wanted to cry again, but choked it back.
"H-how about seeing Sullyman's garden?" I stuttered. Laer shook his head with a tight lipped expression.
"There's rain," he stated. As if to prove him right, a crack of thunder followed his statement.
"Can we see that?" I meekly asked ducking my head in responce to another negative comeback. It never came.
"I think I know of a sheltered spot," Laer snorted, a bright smile growing across his freckled face. He started off towards the main hall.
((Kinda what I have been derping on while trying to rewrite YET AGAIN YNA. Neon....yeah. LOL ))
