The clock ticked and tocked that afternoon, Uwasa was patiently waiting for her Dorm roommate, and possibly her best friend in the whole entire galaxy, to come back to the dorm after her final class before her favorite time of year, "The time of the ice" to be exact, in which the entire planet is suddenly covered by a large snowstorm that goes on for a week at most. During this time, all schools, all workplace areas, and businesses are closed down and locked tightly. People are expected to stay indoors for the week.
For most of the Giga People,(Which is a ironic name for their race, as they are considered some of the smallest creatures in the entire universe) this means stocking up on food on the days before the great snowstorm, locking up doors and windows, and staying inside homes without power for the week. However, for the College and University students, this means going on a "Vacation" to another planet for the week, and studying their life forms carefully.
Uwasa held a little photo of the sparkling blue planet; Earth. The planet she's been wanting to visit for years, and her dream is hopefully going to come true when her friend comes to the dorm with the tickets for a rented spaceship..

The Girls' Dorm was filled with students packing up for the time of the ice. They giggled happily to each other, ready to take a break from school and working everyday. There was always a joyful buzz in the air at this time of year.
Making her way to her own dorm, Juniper greeted a few other girl politely. Her final class had taken more time than usual, so she we was running a little late. She knew Uwasa would be waiting for her, probably as excited as Juniper for the "vacation" they were taking. Juniper loved snow and thought it was beautiful, but going to a new planet wasn't something she was about to turn down.
The door at the end of the hall was opened slightly. Juniper pushed it widely open and stepped inside to see Uwasa waiting for her, just as she expected.
"Hi, Uwasa!" Juniper greeted, smiling. Her grin was filled with excitment and anticipation. Going to a planet was fun, but going with her best friend would make it all the better. "I've got the tickets! We should get going soon if we want to leave on time."

The thing Uwasa loved more then the "Vacations" she would take with her best friend ever year were, of course, the big feast on the week after The Time of the Ice, business would still be closed, and schools would still technically be closed, but the snow would be clearing, and thus, friends and family get together for the biggest feast of the Giga Year! After that was the gift giving, and Uwasa was such a great giver, she bought her friends the most expensive jewels and knick knacks, and gave her family videos of the vacation she went on!
Uwasa's smile grew hysterically when Juniper walked in, she was excited. "Heck yeah Juniper! You got the tickets to the right spaceship, and what's the planet we're going to?!" Uwasa never knew the answer to where they were going until Juniper got the tickets, as it's all decided by a simple raffle. "Come on, is it in the milky way galaxy?!"
Uwasa started to pack her typical belongings, a lot of plush toys, books about the several planets with living life forms on them, and of course, her translator. She knew humans don't speak the complicated Giga Language, so a translator will come in handy!

The room was almost bare, now that the two girls were leaving so soon. Juniper strode over to her bed, which had no sheets on it, and sat down cross-legged in front of her luggage. She carried a quite few good fiction books, along with the typical school books mixed in. At the bottom of her bag was her Freeze Beam, carried just in case of trouble, but it always would lay there forgotten because trouble rarely happened on "vacations."
After zipping up her bag, she looked a Uwasa with a sly grin. "Hmmm, I don't knooow," she joked playfully. "It miiight be in the Milky Way Galaxy, or it miiight not." Juniper played with the tickets in her hands, grinning at Uwasa.
Unable to hold it in anymore, Juniper finally blurted, "Okay! We're going to Earth!" She giggled happily. "Which, of course, is absolutely in the Milky Way!"

Uwasa was getting a little impatient with Juniper, as she was packing every last bit of her luggage, she looked at Juniper, with a face that screamed 'JUST SPIT IT OUT ALREADY!!*, she wanted to know sooooooo badly where they were going!! She was just going to explode FROM ANTICIPATION!!
"Earth?! OH WOW, I NEVER GUESSED!!" Uwasa cried out, half sarcastic, and half with joy. "Oh man oh man, EARTH! Wow, you actually got those tickets?! Wasn't that really hard or something?!" Uwasa was excited, she finally could go to the pretty pretty blue planet!
She then remembered something as she packed the last bit of her belongings. "Oh wait! We forgot to call our families, haha, better tell my brother about where we are going! Heh heh!" Uwasa excitedly walked to the communicator with a large screen that was concocted to the wall, she smirked gently as she said "Please Call Brother: Wine." She giggled.
The screen buzzed and crackled until a video picture of a boy with black hair appeared on a screen, the boy looked slightly puzzled, and maybe a little annoyed. "Little sis? The hell do you want?"
"Guess what?" Uwasa gave a long wide smirk.
"What?" Wine yawned, he looked seriously annoyed.
"Juniper, my buddy got me tickets to earth! The blue planet, heh heh!"
"Oh really? Wow. Nice." Wine yawned, he wasn't interested at all.
Uwasa looked at her brother with a frown. "Psst, jealous I guess." She sighed. "Well, GTG! Juniper needs time to talk to her bro!" And just like that, Uwasa ended the transmission with a flick of her fingers.

The screen went black and Juniper giggled. "You and your brother should really be nice to each other!" She shook her head and used the communicator to call her own brother, James. It took a few moments, but James finally answered the transfmission. From the looks of it, he was with his own friends. He, too, went to the University, but he was a few years ahead of her.
"June!" James said with a grin. "I was about to call you so we could plan out what we're going to do durning the time of ice."
"Can't," Juniper said with a little smirk on her lips. After a few seconds of looking at her brother's confused expression, she continued gleefully, "Uwasa and I are going to Earth!"
James' eyes widened, and he said, "No way!" His voice was filled with disbelief, and maybe even a little jealousy. "Well . . . I guess you need to leave soon, right? You probably want to get as much time on Earth as you can, nerd," he said playfully. "You'd better call everyday!" James scolded with his usual big-brother-protection.
"I know, I know!" Juniper laughed and ended the transmission.
Looking back over at Uwasa, Juniper grinned, "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go, go, go!" She grabbed her luggage and went through the door to the main hall of the Girls' Dormitories. She bid goodbye to a few of her friends on the way out. "You ready for this, Uwasa?" Juniper asked with a sideways glance at her best friend.

Uwasa gently sighed as Juniper's call ended, she really was a little jealous with how well they got along together. "Pfft, okay, let's go now.." Uwasa gave a gentle sigh as she grabbed her luggage, and ran alongside Juniper, saying goodbye to a few of her friends as well, before finally getting out of the Girls' Dormitories...
As they walked outside towards the University's ship renting lot, they gently walked throughout the university, watching as snow already started to fall. "Wow, The season is starting already!" Uwasa smiled. "Dnt ya just love the snow Juniper? In only a day, it's going to get so chaotic, so we better get to the rented ship and head off towards the most wonderful place in the universe, Earth!!"
Uwasa then reminded Juniper. "And remember Juniper, Earth is a Giant planet, according to the books. We'd be about... The size of a tiny earth creature known as a mouse? Which in Earth scale is... 6 inches?" Uwasa explained. "But remember that other planet with giants? We handled that one well, so if Earth is civilized, then I guess we'll be fine there two!"

The snow swirled around like fluffy little cotton ball pieces. Juniper stopped where she was and tilted her head back to catch snowflakes on her tongue. She laughed as she watched the snow fall to the ground. This morning, light snow had fallen, but melted before even hoping to reach the ground. Pushing away the impluse to start making snow angels, Juniper started walking again, luggage in tow.
"Well, I'm ready to go if you are, Uwasa," Juniper said ecstatically. "We should definently leave before rush!" The last thing she wanted to have was too much chaos and leave late. It was always best to get a head start. The snow grew thicker as the two friends walked close together. Juniper shivered slightly from the cold that was beginning to set it.
Thinking back to other planets always brought a smile to Juniper's face. The anticipation was always nearly unbearable when she was on the ship, waiting to arrive at a new planet. Some planets were bland and had no color, but there was usually a compensation for those kind of things, like beautiful sounds. Earth, however, was appealing to all five senses, which was why it brought Juniper so much excitment. She didn't think she could stand visiting another soundless or colorless planet, not after seeing Earth and all of its wonders.
"I've been researching Earth for a while, you know!" Juniper said with a grin. "Most of the articles are pretty dated, but it is known that Earth develops more and more every passing day. How exciting!" She stayed silent for a while, thinking of all the things she'd read. "And did you know they have seasons, like we do? They even have snow, and in some places, it's year round!"

Uwasa smirked to herself gently. "Well, let's get going then, we'd better get there before the season starts.." Uwasa then giggled at the mention of seasons. "Really?? Some places have snow every day or every year?! Holy crap!!" She cussed, extremely excited about the trip. "LET'S JUST GET GOING NOW YAY!"
Uwasa and Juniper were walking towards a large building, it was the Rented Spaceships house, and it was where the spaceships that were rented for travel, would be launched.. "Okay Juniper, what's our spaceship number?" Uwasa asked, walking into the building, they saw several spaceships with Professors and students right beside them.. "Oooo.. The excitement is building up! Ha!"

The huge building of spaceships loomed before them, gradually getting covered in snow. It wasn't pack yet, especially compared to how it would be the next day with everyone leaving at the same time. A few people still lingered around there, though, wanting to get a head start like Uwasa and Juniper.
"Okay," Juniper said, dropping her luggage momentarily and rummaging through her pocket. "The spaceship number is . . . 6251." Looking around quickly, Juniper saw the ship among the others with white paint writing out the number. "That's it over there!"
Rushing over to the ship, Juniper examined it with excitment on her face. It was sleek and black, but plenty big for two people. There was really no need for the control room, which was in front and could be seen through a big window, considering they were planning just to set to coordinates for Earth and let to auto-pilot take over.
"Are you ready to leave?" Juniper asked Uwasa, already knowing what the answer would be. The bags were beginning to feel heavy, and she was glad that she could load them up soon.

"Mmm... I think that's the best looking ship here! Heh!" Uwasa gazed in awe at their ship, it had a unique look to it! Traveling to another planet in style... What a great day today was. "Alright Juniper, time to get this show on the road!" Uwasa laughed to herself, pulling out her ID from her pocket, and then scanning it against a large blue machine, instantly the ship opened up it's entrance.
Uwasa walked into the ship, and was amazed with how it looked.. It was of course just a little bit small, with the main room being just a small room with a single bunk bed, and a few doors leading to the communication room, and the control panel. Uwasa dropped her bags next to the bed, and jumped onto the bottom bunk. "I'm so exhausted Juniper..." Uwasa yawned. "Can ya go and get the ship ready, so we can be taking off soon?"
Uwasa then remembered something. "Mmm, oh right, I almost forgot, we have to do some bookwork about Earth, do we?" Uwasa sighed. "Trying to make us do homework on break, kind of annoying, don't you think Juniper?"

The inside was smaller than most ships Juniper had traveled on, but it suited her just fine, considering the planet she and Uwasa would be headed to soon. Throwing her things onto the top bunk, she rolled her eyes as Uwasa, who would usally make her get the ship prepared for takeoff. Juniper grabbed her thick textbook about Earth and walked through the doorway that lead to the control panel, muttering about always having to do all the work.
While balancing the heavy textbook in one hand, Juniper started the ship, making the ground vibrate steadily faster until it became contsant. She glanced at the book every few seconds and typed in the complicated coordinates for Earth, which took a few minutes. She wanted to make sure it was typed in perfectly. Once she was finished, Juniper set the ship to takeoff in several minutes, after the routine internal matinence computer made sure the ship was absolutely ready to go.
Book in hand, Juniper went back to the main room and shifed through the luggage on her bunk. She dropped all of her books, fiction and textbooks, onto the nightstand below. She kept the one about Earth on her bunk, though, wanting to skim through it during the journey for fun. She'd already pretty much memorized it cover to cover, considering it was such an interesting planet.
"Oh, bookwork isn't so bad if it's about something cool," Juniper noted. "Besides, it makes me think like we're just kinda keeping a diary about the way Earth is." Juniper shrugged, knowing that she never really minded bookwork, even if it was boring. "As long as we incorperate everything we need into the assignment, not only with it get a good grade, but it'll be fun."
Laying down on her bunk, Juniper looked out the window. The ship would be taking off at any moment. She sighed heavily. "I already miss my brother. If only we this Vacation could have come with three tickets." She laughed, thinking again. "Or maybe four tickets, so your brother could come too."

Was Uwasa really much of a bookworm? Well, no. She didn't like to read boring textbooks unless if it was about Earth, though, she did enjoy reading all kinds of novels, nonfiction books, and several other sort of books that didn't discuss boring subjects. Though she didn't like homework at all,(She'd rather use that time sleeping or watching television.) she loved learning in class. "Well.. Okay, I guess it'll be alright.." Uwasa gave a gentle sigh to herself. "just as long as I don't have to write anything." She giggled. "Just kidding, ha ha!"
"You'd wouldn't want my brother, he'd tease me the whole entire time." Uwasa sighed to herself gently. "He never takes me seriously, and doesn't care about what I'm trying to do, he doesn't even care about the degree I'm getting this year!" Her head shook. "Your lucky to have a cool brother, my brother on the other hand, wouldn't care if I was stranded on a planet with giant monsters or something!"

Flipping through the Earth textbook for about the millionth time, Juniper was still fascinated as she always was. All the planets she'd been to were exciting, mostly because of the fact she'd never been there before. This planet, though, was something to really be excited about. Bookwork wasn't going to be too much of a problem. "Oh, you'd better be kidding! I'm for sure not going to be writing your entries!" Juniper laughed and looked out the window again.
The air became a little tense as Uwasa spoke of her brother. "Of course he'd care if something happened to you!" Juniper insisted. "You two are brother and sister! It's in your genes to love each other unconditionally, and even to argue. James and I aren't perfect sibling. We still have a argumental moments, no matter how much we usually get along." Juniper shook her head with a smile on her face. "Appreciate Wine, and everything will be fine."
The rumbling on the ship became more persistent. Juniper eyes widened in excitment. "I think the ship is taking off right now!" She quickly looked out the window again and craned her neck up to see the roof of the Spaceship Rental building. It was opening up like a dome, making room for the ship to take off. The engine began to hum, and Juniper could fell the ship going up, slowly building up speed. "We're going!" She was practically bouncing up and down happily.

"Well... I guess your right." Uwasa gently sighed. Despite how hard it was to admit, Wine was her older brother who did care a lot about her. She is reminded about the time when the both of them were trapped inside a building alone without power during the Time of the Ice years ago. "Still, he is annoying." Uwasa laughed to herself slightly. "But Eh, at least we haven't killed each other yet!"
As the engines started up, and the ship started to rumble slightly, Uwasa fell off her bed, and hit her head on the floor. "Ow..." She rubbed her head slightly as she picked herself up. "Alright! It's starting!" As the ship started up, and slowly gained speed, Uwasa walked by the window, and smirked as she saw they were already in the clouds. "Haha! This is so cool!" She smirked gently.
Suddenly, the lights in the ship turned blue for a few moments, indicting someone was calling from the University. The screen inside the room not too far away showed Makiko, a purple haired girl with a white lab coat who monitored all the spaceships, "Hello? Is anyone here?" She asked.

The sky seemed to rush past the ship. Juniper watched in wonder as they began to leave the atmosphere of the planet. Open space was so beatiful, even if it did get a little boring after staring at it too long. Looking for constellationas as they floated in the sky was still a good way to pass the time.
The blue lights flashed and then flickered back to the their usual soft, white glow. Juniper leapt off her top bunk and walked to the Communations room. Glancing at the person on the screen, Juniper quickly arragned the computer so she could get audio and video out while recieving it from the University. After a few moments, Juniper saw that she could be seen by anyone on the other side of the screen. Slipping the headset on
"Yes, I'm here," Juniper said, adjusting the mic so she could speak into it clearly. "Our ship had just taken off enroute to the planet Earth in the Milky Way Galaxy."

Uwasa was now resting on the bed, whenever they went on vacations, Uwasa slept through the entire spaceship part of the trip. Because she never liked looking at the pretty stars in the sky, it bored her somewhat.
"Ah, very good." Makiko gave a gentle smile as she grabbed her clipboard, and wrote down a few things. "I'm hoping you'll enjoy the trip, as your Professor told me you were fascinated with the Blue Planet!" Makiko softly giggled, before scratching some of her curly purple hair. "Now, you need to know one thing Juniper, this trip is somewhat of a experiment, for not one of our species had ever traveled to this planet, much less the Galaxy. So I hope you write a good essay about this planet, so it can be edited into the school paper!"
"Well, I must be going now, I need to prepare for my trip to the Nexon Galaxy, I'm heading to the Lily Planet, I heard their people are of incredibly small size, so I'll be like a giant to them!" Makiko gave a gentle smirk. "And I'll message your family the ship's number so they can contact you from time to time."

The ship rumbled steadily as it reached equilibrium and went on through the black, star-lit space. It, along with Makiko and Juniper, was well on its way to Earth. The trip wasn't supposed to take very long, considering the incredible speed the ship could reach. At the moment, it was going at full force, naturally.
"Wow," Juniper gasped surprise. "I had no idea we were the firsts from our planet set to land on Earth." It was an amazing honor that only very few were set to accomplish. But, Juniper remembered it had all been luck, considering it was like a lottery for who got to go to which planet. "We'll take extensive notes, that's for sure," Juniper assured with a nod. In the back of her mind, she laughed, knowning Uwasa wouldn't be very happy about field study.
"Enjoy your vacation," Juniper said pleasantly. Ah, the Lily Planet. It was said to be quite beautiful, but she and Uwasa had yet to go to it. Earth was still way at the top of Juniper's list, though. "Thank you, Makiko," she dismissed, and the transmission ended. Juniper exited the Communications room, back to the main room. Uwasa was already resting on her bunk.
Climbing onto her bunk, Juniper pushed the Earth textbook out of the way. The journey to the planet would give her time to rest. There was no sense in staying awake the whole trip and being tired when she got there. Juniper turned on her side and watched with sleepy eyes as the stars twinkled in the unending sky. "Might as well get some sleep," she said aloud, unsure if Uwasa was even still awake. With one last look at the bright stars, Juniper's eyes shut, and she fell asleep.

Uwasa was half awake at that moment, she couldn't fully sleep, going to a planet she had read so much about in University for years, and is finally going to the planet to see how great and fun it is. Would it seriously be as cool as it sounded in the textbooks? She hoped damn well it would be, but if it wasn't, oh well. At least she was going to explore a new planet.
A few hours went by, the trip was supposed to be a 4 hour trip with one stop on Earth's moon for a quick charge. The ship was in fact, solar charged, so the stop on the moon would give the Ship a Half hour to charge up decently so it could continue to the blue planet.
The lights shuddered a loud, but not annoying or ear shattering alarm, indicting they were landing for a pit stop, onto the Earth's only moon. "Uh..." Uwasa's eyes fluttered open as she shook her head, and sat herself up. "Are we there yet Juniper?"

The sleep felt like it only lasted for a few minutes before the alarm for docking went off. Juniper rolled over on her side, looking out the window. The white orb that was Earth's moon was coming closer and closer as the ship slowed down to land on it. Juniper sat up and stretched her arms, yawning. Despite her drowsiness, she was excited that the pit stop meant it wouldn't be long until they reached Earth for landing.
"Yes, the ship is getting ready to land," Juniper said through her yawns. Peering out the window, Juniper realized Earth was suddenly visible. "Oh, Uwasa!" Juniper gasped. "Look!" It was even more wonderful than she had first imagined. Pictures couldn't compare to the beatiful blue planet that appeared in front of the ship. The green patched of land were sparce, compared to the oceans. It looked welcoming and gave off a nice, blue glow.
"It's strange isn't it? A planet with only one moon!" Juniper giggled. Their planet had too many moons to count. Earth was considered such a young planet, compared to others, so it wasn't too bizarre that only one moon had formed to orbit it.
The ship suddenly came to a stop. A soft blue light flashed suddenly, indicating that the ship had landed and the solar panels had opened to drink up some sunlight before taking off again to the planet. "Only half an hour," Juniper said softly. "Then we'll be on Earth!"
