"Wha, Wha.." Uwasa gave a yawn, she lazily looked at the window, and forgot how tired she was when she saw the blue planet, so close in front of them. "What... Oh my gosh, it looks so beautiful!!" Uwasa exclaimed at the sight of the planet. "We totally have to call our brothers or something on the portable communicator, and show them the planet were close to!!!!" Uwasa exclaimed.
Uwasa quickly jumped off of her bottom bunk, and grabbed her suitcase full of her stuff, she carefully opened it, and took out two very tiny, inch tall (On their scale!) objects, carefully she set them on the ground, and then spat on them. "Okay.. I put some liquid on them.. And now.." Suddenly, the objects grew in height, until they were normal sized, both a space helmet, and a portable communicator of her's "Okay Juniper, let's go Explore Earth's only moon, I wanna take pictur and tease our brothers!"
Uwasa hastily put her helmet on, and walked to the entrance of the ship, slowly the entrance opened up. "Haha, Let's go!!!!" She jumped off the ship, and was greeted by strange, slow gravity. "Weeeeeeee! This is so much fun Juniper!

The blue planet looked close enough to touch, even from the moon! Juniper swooned happily, and stared out the window with dreamlike eyes. She couldn't wait for James to see the planet. Oh, he would love it! On the mischevious side of her mind, she really wanted to rub it in his face that she was getting to go to such an amazing planet, but it was all brother-sister teasing.
In a rush, Juniper did the same as Uwasa and made her helmet. She slipped it on over head, making sure it was on tightly. It was dangerous at times to breath foriegn air, and though it was proven that not every single planet's air was poisonous to Gigas, who would want to take the chance and find out?
The gravity was unbelievabley different from back home. Juniper hopped off the ship after Uwasa, giggling in delight. "This is so amazing!" It was almost like flying! She kicked off from the ground hard and didn't fall back down until after a few moments. The gray-white rock beneath felt soft from the gravity, so she wasn't afraid of falling headfirst or anything.
"Come on, Uwasa!" Juniper shouted to her best friend. "Let's take a picture right here. I want to leave as soon as the thirty minutes are up, so we can go straight to Earth!" Her heart suddenly felt light, just like her body felt on the nearly non-exsistant gravity of Earth's only moon.

Uwasa landed head first onto the soft rocks of the Earth's only moon, it didn't hurt, it only made her grumble to herself for a few moments before looking at Juniper with a wide smirk. "Haha! Okay, time for a picture to instantly send to our bros!" She giggled as she said this, she knew her brother didn't show his emotions about her in front of her, but the thought of him grumbling all jealous and stuff made her excited!
"Oh, oh! Let's pose in front of this!" Uwasa stood up, and then jumped to a large, pole object, if either of them looked up, they could dee that the Pole was really, the American Flag. "Oooooo! It's the American Flag! The one Neli Armstrong put up here over 40 or so years ago!" Uwasa was excited to be in front of such a great landmark, she sighed happily to herself as she made a cute pose in front of the flag. "Take a snapshot Juniper!" She exclaimed, smirking as she did so. "Cause this is a once in a lifetime chance!"

It was amazing how still and quiet space was, especially with the excitment that was going on with the two Gigas. Juniper laughed at Uwasa's silly pose. She held the camera up and took a few quick pictures. After that, she turned the camera around and took a picture of herself, making sure the flag came out in the picutre.
"I'll send the pictures right away!" Juniper said to Uwasa as she chose the best pictures. She sent them to each of their brothers, knowing they would get them almost immediately. Time had gone by so face, Juniper realized with a sigh. The half hour was almost over, but it meant they would soon be going to Earth!
"Should we get going, Uwasa?" Juniper asked, sad to leave the fun gravity, but happy to finally get to the invitingly blue orb of a planet. It seemd close enough to touch . . . Juniper looked out at it with dreamy eyes. "I want to get there soon."

Uwasa smirked evilly as Juniper told her she's sending the pictures, oh, the thought of the face on her brother's face when he saw the pictures made her giggle and blush, she loved rubbing in to her brother's face all of the cool planets she would visit... Her brother didn't like going out much really, for some weird reason.
"Hmm? Already?" Uwass gently sighed as she jumped her way back to the ship. "Maybe Earth has shorter days and years then our planet?" From what she remembered, Earth had only 300 something days, the Giga planet on the other hand, about 1242 days a year..
"Well, let's go, I guess.." Uwasa sighed, jumping back into the ship, and jumping onto her bed. "Can't wait to reach Earth! Only a little bit to wait now! Haah!"

The stillness of the moon was very soothing, but Juniper was still very excited to get to Earth. There was enought quitness on the ship during flight. She wanted a little excitment and fun, and she knew Earth had it. The big, blue orb looked so beautiful and inviting. It was so huge that it wasn't even completely visible from the lone moon that orbited it.
Sighing dreamily, Juniper climbed back onto the ship. She dropped the communicator on the bottom bunk for Uwasa to put away. The Communications Room was just as she had left it. Setting the ship ready for atmosphere change of Earth, Juniper practically bouncing with excitment. The ship began to rumble faintly, and then began to take off.
The ground began to disappear from underneath the ship as the moon seemed to get farther and farther away. Juniper walked back into the main room and looked out the big window next to the door. Earth was getting closer and closer.
"We're almost there, Uwasa," Juniper proudly announced. "Just a little while left!" She jumped onto her top bunk and layed on her stomach, watching Earth approach.

Uwasa grumbled in a annoyed fashion when Juniper left the communicator right beside her bunk. "I just wanna sleep before we get there, but nooooo..." She whispered, picking up the communicator, and then tapping it's screen a few times, before she noticed the "Ship's Status" screen... She noticed, a rather surprising thing. "Juniper, you do know that we only have enough fuel to land on Earth, right?" Though, it wasn't much of a problem. They could simply charge their spaceship while on their vacation.
When Uwasa was walking to the communication room to put away the communicator, thought of Earth were coming to her. Paris, a City she has desperately wanted to visit will be a reality. As will her dreams of visiting Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, London, and Disney World! "I'm so excited Juniper.." She happily sang, walking into the communications room and putting away the communicator. "Nothing's going to stand in my way of a perfect Time of the aide break, not even homework..." A thought suddenly came to her. "Oh crap..."
She had forgotten that she was failing Giga Planet History and the ten page makeup essay about the great 'Giga and Rhoumbulan War' she promised her professor. Uwasa forgot her textbooks on the subject, so she'll be pretty my he'd screwed. "Heh... Juniper?" She looked to her friend with a nervous smile. Juniper was passing the class with flying colors, so perhaps her bestest friend would use some of her vacation time to help. "You remember anything about the Giga and Rhombulan War?'
Uwasa knew a decent amount about the war, but not the details about how many innocent Gigas were killed in Rhoumbulan attacks, how their planet suffered near extinction, and lots of other boring stuff. She only cared about the parts about the cool starship battles they made movies about. Though, she also remembered that the Rhoumbulans were strange, giant eyeball creatures that had psychic powers, and even more advanced technology then Gigas. In fact, during the final years of the war, The Rhoumbulans were creating a gigantic shrinking ray to shrink the Giga Planet to the size of a marble! Luckily, the shrinking ray wasn't completed as the Rhoumbulan government pretty much collapsed and the war ended with the Giga's winning. Uwasa probably should have listened more during the class, lots of interesting stuff she missed happened!
"Cause.. Well.." Uwasa gulped. "Remember when I was begging the Giga History Professor about not failing me? Well... I have to write a essay I promised her.."

It was hard for Juniper to tear her gaze away from the beautiful blue orb of a planet and listen to Uwasa. The planet seemed to glow, making a shiny haze around it that made it invitingly addictive to stare at. Of course, being such a good girl, Juniper had finished all of her homework ages ago - even though some of it wasn't due until she returned to her planet - and only had to do field studies of Earth, which couldn't be done from a textbook.
"Oh, Uwasa!" Juniper chastised lightly. "You know, you'll never learn unless if I help you out all the time!" She sighed, giving in almost immediately. "All right, I suppose I could help you . . . just this time, though!" Even Juniper knew it wouldn't be the last time. "Okay, so the thing about Rhoumbulans is that they attempt take over any planet they see. Their pyhscic powers make them extremely hard to battle, and they make can make any living organism go crazy through mind control. It wasn't just them killing Gigas; they mind controlled Gigas into doing things like killing each other . . . and themselves."
Juniper shuddered to even think about those dark times, even though she hadn't been alive during those years. "The way we were able to fight back was the way there were more of us than them. They couldn't control every single Giga, see? So, resistance was able to keep us alive long enough until the war was ended." She gazed out at the blue planet once her short lecture was over. Rhoumbulans had never returned to Giga. She always wondered if they'd ever gotten their government back in order.
"You'd better remember all that stuff, Uwasa, because I'm not repeating myself. And perhaps you should start your essay later," Juniper said with a hint of excitment in her pleasant voice as. "I believe we should be landing very, very soon." The ship was beginning to slip into the atmosphere of the very blue planet.

Uwasa Blindly nodded and paid attention to Juniper's short explanation of the very long and horrifying war against the Rhoumbulan Empire, it did sound pretty cool to her now actually what with all of the crazy mind controlling. It even seemed like something that would make a good book or movie, something that would frighten her out of the theater. Though, what made it even more horrifying then a horror movie or book was the fact that it really did happen.
"Ah, well, good thing the universe never has to worry about those guys again, right?" She laughed slightly, a little nervously. She knew bad and horrible things would always happen in the universe, like the asteroid that recently completely obliterated a neighbor planet to the Giga Planet, a friendly ally planet called the "Blem Planet". She hopes nothing bad will ever happen again to the Giga People, and nothing has ever since they won the war.
"Hmm, i guess so..." Uwasa shrugged, she looked out one of the spaceship's windows, and finally saw that they were so close to the pretty, glowing blue planet! In mere minutes they would be landing somewhere, suddenly, Uwasa turned to Juniper with a excited look. "Juniper! Can you check the status screen and see where we will be landing?! I hope it's in a big city of some kind!!"

Lightly jumping off the top bunk, Juniper attempted pushed away the horrid thoughts of Rhoumbulans. She opened the status screen and examined it with great interest. The ship was going through layer after layer of atmosphere. The ship rumbled, getting used to the sudden changes of air density. Her eyes lit up happily as she saw the city they would be landing in. All thoughts of war were gone immediately.
"Oh, Uwasa!" Juniper squealed. "I think we're going to Los Angeles!" She wracked her mind to remember exactly where it was geographically. "Hmmm, North America, United States. California," she recited perfectly. "Look's like we get to go to a big city, like you wanted, Uwasa!"
Running to the control room, Juniper preped the ship for landing. The sleek ship would crash into something if it wasn't giving coordinates of how to land. She tapped the complicated numbers in, triple-checking them to make sure they were right. Sighing contently, she left the room to speak with Uwasa. It was about time them got ready.
"The ship's completely ready to land, Uwasa!" Juniper announced cheerfully. "Do you want to get ready to leave the ship as soon as we touch the ground?" She began to put on clothes with thicker material, more appropriate for going out.

Uwasa suddenly cried with joy at the mention of Los Angeles, a big city she had heard about and always wanted to visit, heck, this was her favorite city of all time, she had heard so many tales about how this city had all of the most famous movie stars from Earth there. She couldn't wait to meet any of them, if she did meet any big superstars of course.
"Let's get ready Juniper!!! You know how freaking exciting this is for someone like me!!" She too began to put on her heavier clothing met for outside travel on other planets. "Oh wow Juniper, so what will you want to do first?! Maybe we could try to get people's attention and ask them to take us to their leaders or something!" She laughed at what she said, in Earth Movies, whenever aliens came, they were either stranded, or completely evil. Juniper and her weren't like that, they were the first aliens to be on Earth, and heck, maybe they'll become famous on Earth for their travels. "How much longer Juniper?"

The clouds became extremely thick as the ship entered the final layer of Earth's atmosphere. Juniper knew the city was right below them, but it was invisible through the puffy whiteness that shadowed the ship's windows. Juniper was more excited about seeing the sights of the big city more than anything else. She couldn't wait to start her field journal because Earth was, by far, one of the most interesting planets she'd ever heard of. "I thing I'm most excited about seeing those big buildings, and oh!, I hope we get to see some of Earth's more natural places, like forests!"
"Only a few minutes left," Juniper announced. "Once we get out of these clouds, we'll be able to see the city!" She put on the last of her outside clothing and inspected the status screen again. Honestly, Juniper was slightly nervous about meeting anyone. It wasn't just the fact that they would be giants compared to her and Uwasa, but with her shy ways, she was always skittish about meeting anyone from a different planets. It was lucky Uwasa was with her; she was at least outgoing.
The status screen broadcasted that the ship was about to enter the open air, cloud-free. "Are you ready, Uwasa? I'm going to watch from the main window! We're going to land any second, so be sure you have all of your gear on."

Uwasa hastily put on the rest of her outside clothing, she was far too excited to even give a single damn about looking untidy. Besides, Earth is a planet that is somewhat like Giga, other then the fact that the people on her planet are five to six inches tall on earth scale. Still, how different can Earth be to be considered dangerous to Giga people?
Uwasa looked at the status screen in anticipation, she was already very excited, the status screen suddenly started to show information on the City's current Weather. "Huh.." Uwasa looked slightly surprised. "hey Juniper.. The status screen says that it's extremely smoggy here today, so our ship can't get any power from the sun... " Uwasa shrugged slightly, it wasn't much of a big deal to her anyway, they can charge their ship later, right?
Uwasa ran up to Juniper and the main window, Uwasa was a tad bit shorter then the main window, so she made herself look taller by standing on the tip of her toes, just so she can look out. "How much longer?! I can't hold this in!!"

Peering out the window, Juniper saw what Uwasa meant when she said it was smoggy. It seemed like, just below the clouds, there was another layer of atmosphere. A little fit of panic took over Juniper for a moment. How long would it be until they saw the sun again? How long until they could charge up the ship and move on? She closed her eyes and calmed down, knowing it was ridiculous to worry about that, considering how long Uwasa would probably want to stay in a big city like Los Angeles.
"I suppose . . . we shouldn't worry," Juniper said, mostly to reassure her own fears because Uwasa seemed less worried about it than her. "The sun has to come out sooner or later, right?" She shuddered, remembering that this problem had never, even once, come across them. Perhaps it had been a bad call to leave with only enough fuel for Earth, not worrying about being stranded once they touch the top layer of the lithosphere.
"Once we get past this layer of smog, the city will be visible," Juniper smiled, letting her fears slide away for the time being.
The ships suddenly entered the open air of cloudless sky. The city below could be seen quite visibly through the window. Juniper was just tall enough to see through it without standing on tip-toes. What she saw below the ship nearly made her faint. Suddenly, it seemed as if being fuel-less wasn't the duo's worst problem at the moment. This Los Angeles looked absolutely nothing like it should have. Being to panicked to even look any longer, Juniper back away from the window, her mind spinning.
Very speechless, Juniper simply gaped at Uwasa, wondering if what she had just seen was even real at all.

"Yeah, besides, this happens in California a lot apparently, according to our books, Earth people still use things like fossil fuels for their energy.. And Los Angeles has a lot of cars driving at it always so, it should be like this most of the time... That kind of sucks, but we should probably get someone to help us or something.."
Uwasa suddenly noticed the strange, and scared look from Juniper. "Juniper?! You okay or something?" She asked. Uwasa was just getting a little bit nervous herself, she quickly tip toed her feet to be able to see out the window and then shouted.
"Uh, this is NOT LOS ANGELES." She nervously gazed at the sights the city now had, like buildings that were crumbling, cars that had been turned over or smashed into pavement. There was not a single living thing in sight. Needless to say, Uwasa was freaked out.
"Juniper!! Quick, before we land call the University and tell... Tell them something has went COMPLETELY WRONG and we need a rescue team or something!!!!" She panicked, she did not want to be on this planet anymore, she wanted to get the hell out of here before they even fully land.

It looked as if a massive attack had taken place on Los Angeles. There were signs that everything had happened at once. The cars littered the road in every direction, some flipped over, and others that looked like they had exploded. Even the pavement itself was cracked and split up and down the road. The slabs of concrete on the sidewalks was bent in unnatural ways, curving up and down into sharp hills.
"This is Los Angeles," Juniper whispered in a horrified tone. "The buildings . . . the streets . . . this is Los Angeles," she repeated. At least what was left of Los Angeles, Juniper thought silently. Her eyes scanned the streets repeatedly for any sign of life, but nothing made a move. It was like the city was frozen in one moment of terror.
Juniper rushed to the Communications Room, tripping over her feet more than once. She fired up the main communicator, sending out a signal for someone, anyone, at the University on her planet. Frustratedly, she pounded the commands over and over, but the screen stayed static-y, giving no signal in . . . or out. Desperately, Juniper searched for a way to fix the problem. She gasped when she realized what was causing this.
With a grave expression, Juniper walked slowly back to the main room. "The smog is preventing any signal from going out. We can't contact anyone while the sky is like this." Heart hammering in her chest, she tried to seem calmer than she really was. Her voice still came out shaky and frightened. "A-And we can't fly off either. Th-There isn't enough fuel for the ships to get out of the atmosphere." Her crystal blue eyes stared out at the ruined city.
"We have to land."

Uwasa's heart sank and sank, they had to land at the ruined city, the ruined city that just looked so dangerous to be in. It reminded her of books she loved to read, the ones about the end of the world, and post apocalyptic societies, where there are only a few survivors, and they roam the earth, trying to find a new home. Of course, while she enjoyed them, (And loved scaring the crap out of Juniper with them.) she never wanted to be on a planet like that. Not at all, just not at all.
"W-Wh-Wh-Wh..." Uwasa just kept on stuttering, she wished all of this was a really bad nightmare. But so much of it felt so real, and it was true. For now, they were stranded in the middle of a city in ruins. "J-J-J-Jun-iper? We're s--stuck here?" Uwasa slowly walked towards her friend who had a calm looking face, but a voice that screamed terror and afraid. "Wh-What are we going to do?!"
Uwasa knew it, they were going to eventually die on this planet, oh how terrible the thoughts Uwasa was thinking of right now, the many ways they could die here. Maybe a wild animal will suddenly attack and just swallow them whole? Or maybe people went really crazy, and they could be killed by crazy people?! Or maybe just a plain death, running out of water and food. That still scared the hell out of her, seeing as how that's the most likely way they would die.
"J-Juniper?" Uwasa suddenly wrapped her arms around Juniper's waist. The short girl started to push herself into Juniper's clothes and just plain sob. "It's not fair Juniper!! Why are we stranded here?! I just wanted to go to Earth!! Not die on a dead planet!!" She continued to sob, as the ship started to go closer and closer down towards the city.

'Don't panic, don't panic,' Juniper repeated to herself over and over, even though sh was already on the brink of flipping out like Uwasa. Someone had to be the comforting voice, and Uwasa as already beyond that point, so it was Juniper's job to calm things down. The ship's walls were seeming to close in on her as Juniper tried to clear her mind.
"We are going to stay calm," Juniper said soothingly. "That's what we're going to do, Uwasa." Her mind was filled with fear and terrible images, but Juniper tried to keep a straight face. "It looks like something struck Earth, perhaps a rival planet, or something." It seemed this fate of Los Angeles had happened all at once, not gradually. "We're going to land, and we're to stay calm."
Looking up through the window, she added doubtfully, "Maybe the smog will clear a bit, and we can recharge the ship and get out of here." Her heart was beating a mile a minute, but it would do no good to panic along with Uwasa. The ship was prepping to land. The floor vibrated as the ship began to touch down on the paved road of a destroyed intersection.
Everything was suddenly still and calm. Perhaps a better way to describe it was dead, because there seemed to be no one around, at least Juniper couldn't see anyone through the windows. Perhaps this was the result of a massive attack. Perhaps all of humanity was dead. But there was only one way to find out, and Juniper was feeling particularly brave at the moment.
"We need to go out and search for the specifics of what happened here," Juniper's voice came out in a soft whimper, but there was truth in her words.

Uwasa breathed in and out heavily, she needed to calm herself like Juniper had said. "W-W-Well yeah... Maybe you are right.." She whimpered, thinking about how often invasions from other planets happened around the universe. In all honesty, it did seem pretty likely something like that would happen. After all, she's heard these Martians aliens from Mars have always been planning a attack..
"we're going to land, we're going to land..." The nearly heartbroken Giga girl nodded, she was glad that Juniper was calm during the whole thing, after all, Juniper was always the super calm one whenever something went wrong,(Atleast compared to Uwasa when she freaks out.). "Alright. Let's do this." She said with a determined voice, Uwasa was not going to let a ruined planet destroy her vacation. Maybe the both of them still can have fun, maybe they can leave early, and travel to another planet on the Milky Way.
Uwasa pulled herself away from Juniper, and started to walk towards one of the windows, carefully she tip toed to make herself look taller and then gasped. "It's even worst up front..." She froze, suddenly noticing something terrifying, a creature. A GOD DAMN EARTH ANIMAL. "Oh-Oh Go-God J-Juniper!!! There's a EARTH ANIMAL!!! A EARTH ANIMAL LWYING ON THE SIDEWALK!!!"
It was a very dangerous creature to the tiny Gigas. Something that ate creatures their size.
A Kitten.

It was breathtakingly hard for Juniper to keep her cool during such a horrible crisis. If the planet was really attacked by a rival planet, she just hoped the invaders had already shoved off, satisfied with the destruction they had caused. The thought made Juniper's heart ache for the poor planet.
Juniper offered a weak smile to Uwasa when she calmed down. In truth, Juniper wasn't brave at all. She only wanted to keep a straight face for Uwasa's sake. In turn, Uwasa had overcome the initial panic stage. The ship rumbled as it landed, making Juniper sway on her weak legs. Nervously, she followed Uwasa to the window, looking out at the desolate streets.
"Uwasa," Juniper whispered. "Don't scream. It'll call unwanted attention here." Her voice had raised a few pitches, revealing her sudden fear. The thing on the sidewalk could possibly be their deaths. "I-I think it's call a . . . a cat." Juniper's heart sank quickly. She remembered reading in the textbook about Gigas being sure to steer clear of cats.
