((Another RP of mine...This time with Birdie aka Nocturnalbridie Birdie = Emiko Me = Sofia and giant [Rune] PICTURE REFS = Rune = patrikarvidsson.deviantart.com/art/Photospree-64584812Emiko = Nevermind...no ref of her yet ^^; Sofia = fmj4912.deviantart.com/art/I-swear-that-she-s-the-one-123577011 )) ~~5 years ago inside the Bergstrom laboratory in Sweden~~ “Father? Where are you? I have a football [soccer] game soooonn…and Mom said you’d take me…Father? ,” said the blonde adolescent boy [he hasn’t started dying his hair yet..] as he wondered through his crazy dad’s enormous laboratory…Sighing he was about to give when a smirk grew across his face. His father was obviously not in the lab and neither was his assistants…so…this gave him ample opportunity to mess around with his father’s stuff. He came in awe to a giant glass cylinder. It had to stand at least 75 if not 100 feet tall. It was friggin huge…He rushed up to it to get a closer look…accidently shoving against a pole on the way there…Surprising as if expecting his arrival..a large glass door opened…Being curious and naïve, the boy eagerly walked into the cylinder…However his curiousity turned into terror as the door shut behind him and mist started to fill the room. He banged on the door, but to no avail…He royally fucked up….The rest …is history… ~~Present Day~~ Sofia was excited. After numerous and unsuccessful attempts at selling her special first edition book, she finally found a buyer…and an AMERICAN at that….Sofia always had a fascination with America, but despite being “richer than God”, she and her family could not go…not after…”the incident”…But Sofia promised herself she would go on her own when she was old enough.. Anyways, she was totally hyped that the American we coming personally to receive the book….It wasn’t every day she got to practice her English with a true American. She giggled…imagining an attractive tall, dark, and handsome man approaching her and him stating that he was there for the book, but of course, he would stay..Obviously in awe of her exotic Scandinavian beauty, they would fall in love of course…She would name one of their babies Joshua…She rather liked that name. Yes…She couldn’t wait to meet him…She couldn’t wait indeed.

Emiko leaned back against her seat and watched the outskirts of Stockholm turn into rural countryside. As her bus rolled on, the American backpacker saw the modern and classic mix of the large city gave way to green countryside, farms, wandering livestock, small towns, and even some larger towns bordering on the verge of becoming a city.
Smiling, Emiko readjusted her iPod ear-buds and turned the volume up. ‘I still can’t believe how Europe is so different from home. Forget just California, I doubt that there are places like this in the US.’ She then reached onto the seat next to her and pulled her camera out of her purse. Flipping through the digital pictures the young woman reminisced over the memories that had already been made. ‘Oh God..Britain was awesome. And my cousin..,’ rolling her eyes she studied several pictures of a young man about her age posing somewhat rudely with the guards outside Buckingham Palace. ‘Oi, I don’t know how they didn’t shove the butt of their guns into that dork’s crotch.’
The 20 year old was traveling across Europe with a group of her college friends, which included her 21 year old cousin. All of them were enjoying seeing everything from museums, favorite bands that were doing European tours, bar hoping, and anything else they could. They had been in Stockholm for about a day and were only going to be staying for only a day more. But today Emiko was taking the day to herself. In a smaller city about an hour of Stockholm was a person who had a first edition copy of a book that Emiko was willing to pay a lot for. ‘Surprisingly enough, the owner doesn’t want that much for it.’ Biting her lip, Emiko started to worry again. ‘I just hope that this Swede isn’t some weirdo…it would be awesome if it was a really hot Swede though.’
Smiling, Emiko noticed that the bus was finally stopping. A small, but modern enough looking town sprawled outside of her windows. Eager to find the café she was to meet the owner of the book, Emiko picked up her purse and made her way outside. Following the directions that had been emailed to her, the part Japanese, part German, all American mutt-girl walked to the outdoor café. Sitting down, she placed her black and red purse on the table. It had been decided that her noticeable purse would be the sign for the owner know who she was. ‘Huh…I did say “bag”..not purse….I wonder if the owner thinks I’m a guy.’

Sofia entered the local café practically bouncing on the way in…which got a few stares in itself…on the lookout for a red and black bag..She frowned when she looked around… All there were was a sea of blonde haired people…well…save for one Asian looking girl….which a black and black purse on her table…Wait…Red and black purse!? She quickly turned back to the Asian girl with almost a horrified look on her face…as all her daydreams were shattered into oblivion. ‘Noooooo,’ she thought miserably… ‘A girl?. Sofia sighed and almost reluctantly walked over to the American. Sitting across from the girl, she forced a smile and spoke up, “Hello there! My name is Sofia…I believe you’re the one who wants my book. Am I right?” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As she waited, Emiko pulled back out her iPod and nervously watched the street through the large windows. A server quickly made her way over to the table and asked her an internationally known, single worded question.
“Coffee?”
Smiling at her, the young tourist nodded and pulled out some Euros to give to the waitress. Once Emiko had her cup, she sat back and again watched the street, waiting for who she hoped was a hot, 20-something, Swedish male with a very old book in hand.
Not a moment later, the day-dreaming girl was startled out of her punk music filled reverie by a young Swedish girl popping up on the other side of her table. “oh!...umm..,” quickly pulling her ear-buds out of her ears Emiko stuttered an answer to the blond. “Ummm…I’m sorry? I couldn’t hear you…,” a slightly disappointed tone came to her voice, “….did you mention a book?”

Sofia, noticing the tone of disappointment in the American’s voice, smiled softly.
“Yes..I did…The Picture of Dorian Gray, right? I have a couple different ..er…first edition books…and just want to make sure I have the right one..,”.
“Oh..By the way…By the tone of your voice, you were expecting some hot Swede guy, huh? If it make you feel any better, I was expecting a hot guy as well,” She ended with a laugh.
“Oh well…Let me pull out the book,” she said rummaging through her bright pink purse only to frown…There wasn’t a book in there…at all…..
“Oh dear…” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Laughing, Emiko offered the girl a chair. “Sorry to disappoint. But if it helps my guy cousin is traveling with me and my group.”
When the girl had sat down and started to look through her own large purse, Emiko took a conversational sip of her coffee.
“You have of other first edition books? Your family must have an amazing library.” Placing her cup down, the brunette noticed that Sofia had frowned and was looking around her purse rather anxiously.
“What’s wrong Sofia?,” starting to become a bit anxious herself Emiko unconsciously leaned forward a bit and tilted her head, “did you forget the book?”

Sofia, looked around almost self-consciously, before sighing and giving a sheepish smile, “Maybe?...Ok…Yeah… I did….Oh… And My family does have an amazing library…Makes me wish I read more,” she stated with a laugh… “Hmm…I guess I have to go back home and get it… I’m not really supposed to bring people back to my home, buut..It’s not everyday I meet an American.. So feel free to join me,” she ended with a wide grin. Sofia mentally crossed her fingers..Praying her brother wasn’t around the house….He hardly ever was anyways…. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Leaning back in her chair, Emiko looked away and considered the Swedish girl’s offer. ‘Man..this sounds like this could be the beginning of Hostel 3. I really should just wait here…..but Im seriously want to see her library and what else she has. And Im usually a great judge of character and Sofia seems normal enough,’ biting her lip the young woman quickly considered her options.
Turning her gaze to her the table top and her coffee, Emiko’s gaze fell on her cell phone. ‘Shit! That’s it!’ Smiling, she looked back at Sofia and nocholantly picked up her cup. “Ummm…if your sure that its alright, then Id love to come and maybe see the rest of your library? Just give me a second to run to the restroom and Ill meet you outside.” Quickly finishing the last of her coffee, Emiko put her iPod into her purse and grabbed her belongings.
She made her way to the back corner of the room and quickly walked into the single person restroom. Locking the door, Emiko pulled her cell out again and typed out a quick text to her cousin. [Hey…Jon…found book owner..a girl our age and she 4got book…going to her house to get it….txt me again in about an hour and if I don’t txt back in like half an hour after that..call the US embassy……]
Closing her cell, she put it back in her purse and walked out to join Sofia outside. ‘I wonder why she’s not supposed to have people over? Guess that Im just gonna have to ask.’

~~After an hour or two of walking~~ Sofia and Emiko reached the bottom of a hill with a huge mansion on time…and I mean HUGE…the building covered at least an acre of land on it’s own…With a tennis court on one side and an enormous Olympic sized pool on the other…Of course the pool was in a glass building of it’s own considering it was Sweden and it got…quite a bit chilly during the winter season.
Blushing slightly in embarrassment of being so friggin rich, Sofia spoke, “Welcome to my home sweet home. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When the two girls had started out, Emiko had been more than a little nervous about following a stranger out to the middle of nowhere. ‘God..over the hill and through the woods to the crazy’s house I go?,’ the tourist though with an ironic smile. But as they walked and chatted about their lives, Emiko found that Sofia was a truly likable person and that the two of them could quite possibly be good friends.
About an hour into the walk, Emiko’s cousin sent her a text seeing if she was doing ok. When Sofia inquired who it was, Emiko almost felt bad at suspecting her new friend of being evil. “Oh..just my cousin Jon checking up on me.” Emiko then brought out her camera and showed Sofia the pictures she had taken, making sure to pause longer on the ones of Jon making an ass of himself.
Not long after, Sofia’s house came into view. Emiko’s mouth dropped open from shock. “Holy crap….home sweet home? Looks more like a hotel! A really, really, really nice and expensive hotel,” shaking her head, Emiko smiled at Sofia. “Is the reason you cant have people over is ‘cause your family is in the Swedish mob or something?”

I like all the details of the outside of the house and the dialogue between Emiko and Sofia, I like it that they might become friends.

Sofia laughed, “OH heavens no…I’m not even sure if there is a Swedish mob or whatever. My dad is simply a scientist and inventor…just a rather successful one, “ she added with a shrug. “Please…Do come in…,” she said as she headed into the house. “The library is right down this hall,” she said with a smile as she pointed down a seemingly endless hallway. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emiko laughed with the Swedish girl as they walked into her house. “Really? What did he invent? Has he received a Nobel Prize?”
The petite American was again amazed at the house she had just entered. Not only was it immense, but the hallway they were in had an abnormally high ceiling. She noticed that there were hallways that broke off from the large one that were more normal sized. “Wow…seriously…what a house. But for being so huge, it really is kinda homey.”
Just as she said that, Emiko looked back to Sofia and saw that the girl had stopped. They were at the end of the hallway. Right in front of them were huge doors that were about 7ft high. But as she studied the wall, Emiko began to notice that there seemed to be an outline of another door cut into the wall. But this one was beyond huge.
She was about to comment on this when Sofia quickly ushered her into the library. And just like everything else in the house, it was huge. “Holy crap! Why am I suddenly feeling like Belle from Beauty and the Beast?” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sofia cocked her head to the side. “Beauty and the Beast? What’s that…? Is that some sort of classic book…I’m a more contemporary reader myself.,” she laughed sheepishly. “Which is probably why I don’t come here very often…My brother does though…He’s a more avid reader than myself. Anyways, would you like something to eat or drink? Or do you need anything in any way? I would hate my guest to be uncomfortable…” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emiko tore her gaze away from the unbelievable amount of books infront of her and looked at Sofia. “Huh? Oh, no.” Emiko chuckled, “it’s a classic tale..i think the Grimm brothers wrote a version. About a prince who was cursed and a girl he-…nevermind…I could ramble all day. I love to read anything that’s good.”
She started to look over the titles closest to them when Sofia commented on her brother and getting a snack. ‘A brother? That could be very nice.’ With a small grin, Emiko turned back around to Sofia. “Sure. Do you have some soda? I could use more caffeine……………so..you have a brother?”

“Yes..I do…an older one, but he’s not here right now,” she said quickly..perhaps a little too quickly. Eager to change the subject asked Emiko a question. “Well..I’m going to go get your soda..I’ll be back in a minute feel free to look around the library…” With that said, Sofia left the library and headed off towards the kitchen. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Emiko watched as the younger girl almost ran out of the room. ‘Wow..well that was a little odd. I wonder if she’s trying to hide something.’ Starting to worry again, she again turned back to the books around her. The sight of so many books easily erased most of her fears and she started to look around again.
Close to ten minutes pass by and Emiko started to wonder where Sofia was. ‘I wonder how far it is to the kitchen. You’d think that a house like this would have several small ones around it or something...’ Starting to become a little bored and anxious about being left alone in a strange house, Emiko felt like she had to move. She kept wondering around the library but still couldn’t shake the feeling. ‘..Ill just go find the bathroom. Hopefully Ill run into Sofia along the way.’
Quickly agreeing with herself, Emiko went back out into the hallway. She looked around and tried to figure out where to go next. Not only were there many hallways to choose from this one, but there were at least two other levels of walkways along the walls leading to many other rooms. ‘God…I need a fricken’ GPS unit to get around here.’ Slowly starting forward, Emiko started down the hallway.
