"Paint one of my walls? Why?" Keelan asked pursing his lips together. My heart sank, he looked very displeased.
"Yeah... like Catra's room... but on one wall. I like it!" I shut my eyes waiting for rejection.
"As long as it is not red. Red is a royal only color," the silver-haired giant sighed. I glanced up into the tender gaze he offered. I felt safe all of a sudden, safe and wanted.
"I'm going to put you in my pocket, ok?" he stated. I nodded and two fingers moved to pinch my sides. I was slipped into his wide breast pocket. Of course there was no hole to peep out of. I felt his pace increase. I leaned against the pounding of his heart.
"Excuse me!" he called out.
"Oh! My Lord Catra!" I heard two girls cry out in surprise. something heavy hit the floor.
"Can you bring paint to the guest room?" Keelan asked. With a hurried answer, the servants ran off.
"They'll bring us the paint. Does that suit you?" keelan opened his pocket and stared down at me. I didn't wipe the pout off fast enough. On of his dusty silver eyebrows rose in questioning.
"They called you Catra," I asked, though it was more of a statement.
"Keelan does not exhist here, Amy. You must understand..." He closed his pocket and all conversation seized. His voice sounded so sad, I thought my heart would break.

He walked back the "his" room slowly. Now and then a deep shuddering sigh would escape him, but other then that he did not try to reconnect our conversation. I sat in his pocket, not able to say a word against the crushing silence. I heard servants rushing to move out of their lord's way. The two female servants from earlier confirmed that they had done what Keelan asked. He boomed out a thank you and that was that. He turned sharply and I heard the door close. He sighed again.
"Please say something," he begged leaning against the door. Another silence was passed between us as I struggled to find what to say to him.
"You are always Kool-aid to me. You're too sane to be Marshmallow-head," I stated. The wall of flesh behind me shuddered. I was afraid that I had made him cry. Laughter suddenly spilled over me, shaking the air around me. I was stunned. He was laughing at me? I wanted to punch him.
"That was a blunt way of saying what I needed to hear," Keelan chuckled as he attempted to calm himself down.
"I was being serious!" I protested hitting his chest with my open palm. I had doubts that he did not even feel my hand connect.
"I know. I know. Calm down," he stated opening his pocket, "Thank you." Blush colored my cheeks as a finger ruffled my hair. The same finger was offered for me to grab a hold on and thus I was removed from the pocket. I looked up into his deep blue eyes. A soft smile played on his features. I made a face at him. He made a face right back, though his had to be dumber than mine. He was trying too hard. I laughed all the same. He carried me over to the desk, where to my joy, my iPod lay on a important looking piece of parchment. I bolted to it as soon as Keelan set me down. I held the cold machine tenderly in my shaking hands, my only reminder of home. I unlocked it and the back-light came on. Keelan sat heavily behind me.
"What is that anyways?" he asked moving to lean over me to get a better look at what I was doing.
"It is my music player," I laughed. Turning it back off, I held it out to Keelan. The giant fumbled a bit trying to grab it, but soon my iPod was in his hand. He put it on the nightstand for me later. As he returned, I noticed the pack around his waist was moving with his rhythm, as if something heavy rested in it. He sat and leaned over me again. He dipped a white quill in red ink and signed a paper quickly. A beautiful looped word appeared on the paper, but the word made my heart sink again. Catra.
"Do you want to know something about me?" Keelan suddenly spoke up making me almost lunge out of my skin, "Before I changed my hair color, it was pitch black."
"What? Did you bleach it white?" I asked not knowing if bleach existed in this world or not. By Keelan's confused expression, it didn't.
"What is in the pack, by the way? Is it something important?" I asked in order to change the subject. Keelan's hand went to the strange brown leather.
"It is dangerous," he grunted, "Poison in case I need to defend myself or Catra's rule." A shudder ran through my tiny frame. A click resounded in the quiet room, Keelan was opening the jars of paint.
"What will you use for a brush?" he gasped. I held up my hands with a small smile. Keelan huffed a long drawn sigh.
"As long as you do not get anything dirty, fine," he snorted dipping his brush into the blue and turning to face the wall. I dipped my right hand into the thick, slightly sticky green paint and began to run up the wall. I smiled to myself. Keelan was proving to be a better friend than I had first thought. And a better artist.

I took a moment to watch his brush strokes, long and graceful like the fingers that made them. His blue eyes were focused completely on what he was doing. He even bit his tongue lightly in concentration, which I could not help but to think was cute. I had finished my violets, but compared to the swirling sky the giant was creating, I felt sub par.
He must have finished, because his tongue returned to the center of his mouth and he tore his gaze from the wall. A small smile lit his features.
"Your painting is cute," he sighed, his hard eyes growing soft. A hot blush colored my cheeks.
"Yeah? You're lying," I snarled. His huge arm came to rest beside me as he leaned against the table.
"I am not," he replied, a fox-like grin on his face. A knock came to the door.
"Gill sent me...um... I have to be out on the grounds now. So... take care of Amy or else!" Catra threatened from the other side of the door, "And the afternoon meal is waiting for the both of you. I'm sure Arrow wants you to hurry!" I heard Catra's retreating footsteps thunder down the hall.
"That boy..." Keelan sighed with a shake of his head. He offered me his hand.
"Would you like to stay in my hand or my pocket? Most of the servants are breaking from their duties about now," the silver haired giant asked with a tilt of his head.
"Pocket," I reaplied swiftly, "I am afraid of heights enough." I clambered onto his hand, my ankle giving one of its trademark pops.
"What was that?" Keelan gasped lifting me the short distance to his eye level.
"I have this bad ankle..." I laughed giving it a tug. Though it was healed, the tendon that tore was still a good bit screwed up.
"Is there anything I can do?" Kee quipped before I could finish. I shook my head. There was nothing anyone could do to help the tendons from hurting from over use, or in this case, standing too long. The giant hesitated, but returned me to his breast pocket.
"I'm sorry," he said but I did not know why.
((Short crap post. My muse is being fickle. VERY fickle. ))

But who am I to talk, the finals schedule has me and my poor little muse in a chokehold ... eheh.
I'm liking how you build the relationship between them. Nicely done. ^^

When I resurfaced we were back in the dining hall. Keelan had a bowl before him, the milky contents giving off steam. We were alone, but that did not bother me too much. I was beginning to trust my silver-haired guardian. He set me bside his meal, but not on the plate that held the bowl from the table. What Catra had said the night before must still have been fresh on the giant's mind.
"You got handprints in my pocket," Keelan grunted, a sour scowl on his face. Before I could offer up a witty retort, Arrow marched in, something hidden in his hands.
"Amy, look what Keelan made just for you last night! Before he got tipsey..." Arrow chortled. He opened his hand in front of me and in his palm was a simple green dress. It was a very. Pretty shade of green, lighter than forest but darker than emerald, and adorned at the waist by beads of blues. Keelan groaned.
"She just prompted me to finish that project," he hissed, his eyes radianting malice. Wiping the paint on the torn makeshift handkercheif thing I was wearing, I took the dress anyways. The material was soft and slipped through my hands like silk. But it seemed strong. I looked up to see both boys staring at me, expecting.
"I am NOT going to try it on with both of you looking at me!" I yelped moving to hide behind Keelan's late lunch. Both boys turned to face each other, red in the face. Hissed wispers were exchanged as I pulled on the dress careful not to damage it in any way. Walking to the other side of the dish, I looked up at the two of them. Arrow pushed his red bangs from his wide eyes. Keelan's blush deepened.
"I made some adjustments using your old clothing as guidelines. You look decent now," he muttered. He began to eat to take his mind off things.
"Killjoy," Arrow sneered. He turned to me, a grin on his face.
"You look great," he assured me. A wet towel was thrust before me.
"If you are going to eat, wipe off the paint silly girl," Kee sighed. His gaze was intence, almost made me shudder. I wiped my hands clean as Arrow made his exit.
"I sometimes go into town and bring toys of various kinds to the children. I learned to sew, but still cannot cook," Keelan explained placing a large slice of bread soaked in his soup on the dish. I nodded blankly as I ate. My first impression of this stern man was way off. I was surprised.
We ate in silence, me careful not to spill on his dress.when he was finished he leaned back in his chair staring at me.
"What?" I snapped playfully at him. He shrugged and closed his blue eyes.
"Do you want," he suddenly asked, "to go outside? You can see Catra fail at fighting." I was a bit nervous at the thought of two giants locked in battle with me nearby. Keelan must have seen my hands fidgit.
"I will be sure you are safe," he added, "I just need to grab something."
"I can take her. We will wait for you outside," Arrow pipped up reappearing in the large room. Keelan hesitated in answering.
"That sounds good. Right Keelan?" I asked. With a blank expression, he nodded. Arrow's hand appeared beside me. Keelan got up, pushed his chair in slowly, and left the hall. When he was gone, I clambered onto Arrow's slightly damp hand.
"He sure is a stick in the mud," Arrow quipped, "but he means well." He walked out of the same exit Keelan retreated out of and to the double doors. I was pleasently surprised to see no guards. He pushed them open, me almost falling from his calloused hand in the process, and we entered a patch of bright sunlight. Blinking a few times, I allowed my hazle eyes to grow use to the light. Arrow walked like a dancer, light and swift with perfect balance.
"What do the stars on your face mean?" I found myself asking. He glanced down at me, a jester's smile on his lips.
"I have a few things hidden in my closet too. Just like Keelan. Just like everyone you have met. All in good time," he sighed. And that was that.

I could soon hear the amplified sharp clash of metal against metal. Gill flung himself at Catra, black hair blazing behind him like a banner against the pale tan cape he wore across his shoulders. Catra did his best to defend himself against the vetern's swipes, sword quivering with each meet of Gill's thick blade. Catra was using a light short blade against was gamers would call a bastard sword.
Without a care, Arrow strolled past the battle whistling as he passed the warriors.
"You are going to have to use it!" Gill egged his frantic partner.
"I don't want to resort to that!" Catra shouted in reply. He swung his weapon wildly, almost nicking Gill's scarred cheek. Gill flipped his blade about and dashed forward with a cry. Catra muttered a spell quickly and Arrow's breath caught in his chest. A burst of hot golden flame spewed from Catra's open hand straight at Gill. Gill ducked under the blast but rose to meet the tip of Catra's shining sword. The giant was panting with effort and looked distressed by his victory.
"You always go easy on me," Catra stated helping Gill up. Gill scratched the scar running up the left side of his jaw with a broad grin.
"You don't one of these right?" he chuckled. Arrow looked down at me with worried eyes. He must have felt me trembling.
"Amy? What's wrong?" he asked bringing my small form to his face. My stomach felt as if it had dropped and my knees shook with fear.
"Amy? What is she doing out here? You know it is dangerous!" Catra shouted sticking his blade into the earth. He began to march towards us. Arrow and Catra began to argue, their voices so loud I couldn't clearly understand them. I wanted to cry.
"Put me down," I asked Arrow after a while of their loud voices.
