The Godless Chapter One: Don’t Take My Baby Violet was the most beautiful raven haired woman within the nation, she was not royalty, but wore many jewels and beautiful clothes as if she was. Her eyes were a warm green once, but vanity has given them a piercing cold demeanor. Her silky soft hair cascaded down to the back of her knees like an ebony waterfall. Her skin was perfectly tanned and as smooth as warm honeyed wine on the desert nights, which her full ruby lips always tasted of the finest. She was as beautiful as a goddess, a tall, slender goddess of radiance. “Men,” Violet laughed while looking at a new green jewel that was now bound to her finger by a golden band. “So easy! I almost feel sad for the simple creatures! I speak the truth, no Shala?” “Clearly, my sister,” Shala spoke while putting the freshly washed and sun dried clothes in the big trunk. Shala was beautiful as well, but her sisters beauty was so radiant that it out shown her own by miles. Shala was not like her older sister though, she did not see men as pets or things to be used like her sister did, but the way she saw them was not any better. To her they were disgustingly driven by primal instincts to mate, to own, to bloody the enemy, to conquer. They were frightening, determined to rule, and strong, such cruel selfish things. Shala hated and feared men, but her sister had a power over them so she didn’t have to fear them while her sister was there to protect her from the beast. “Hmmm,” Violet sighed in thoughtfulness after she looked out the window at the stars. “What troubles you, dear sister?” Shala asked, while stopping at the big expensive bed, filled with sheep fur instead of straw. “They will be coming for a sacrifice soon,” Her voice was sad and soft “They will take another girl to offer that falsity.” “Yes sister, the Sun God needs t-“ “FOOL!” Violet snarled at her younger sister “Do not address that nothingness with such a title! There is nothing there! It is but the sun and the sun alone! From Dawn to dusk, it is nothing but a ball of fire!” “Yes Sister,” Shala said, bowing her head in shame. Violet was very bitter toward the legends of the Sun God, for their mother was taken away by it when Shala was too young to remember the beautiful woman that gave birth to her. Shala was raised by her sister, a father was never in their story. Every year, the most beautiful girl in the village was taken to be sacrificed to the Sun God who would consume the her flesh within days, it didn’t take near that long to take her life. If there was no sacrifice the Sun God would not allow the clouds to come in the season of rain, the crops would be scorched and people would die. Violet refused to believe, let alone worship, something so cruel. “Sister! SISTER!” Violet jerked awake and looked at Shala who was staring out the window in fright, “What is it Shala?!” “Soldiers!” Shala cried “The sacrifice is today? That came sooner then expected!” Violet mumbled, “don’t worry Shala, the village men love us, they will not stand for it if I was taken away.” The woman patted the bed “Come little sister, the sun is not high enough for us to wake. Let us sleep a few more hours and I’ll make you some breakfast. Mr. Kale’s cow has given birth a short while ago, the milk will be delicious!” “Their coming Sister!” Shala’s eyes were beginning to water. “Enough! Come to bed, big sister will make the fears leave you, now come!” The smaller girl backed away from the window and began to approach the bed when the door was broken down. Violet leaped to her feet while Shala fell to the ground in fright “What is the meaning of this!?”she shrieked in rage “Leave my home at once!” “Shala is to come with us!” A soldier stated while others poured into her house. “SISTER!” The said girl cried in despair “WHAT!?” Violet roared, “Do you not know who you are spe- UNHAND MY SISTER AT ONCE!” Violet shouted when a man suddenly took the frail girl by her arms. Shala screamed and wept rivers of tears “I don’t want to die! Sister, save me for this, I’m begging you!” “Shala, sister of Violet has received the honor of becoming one with the Sun God!” “FALSE!!!!” Violet screamed at the top of her lungs and stomped her foot into the ground “You will not sacrifice my darling sister to that falsity!!!” “Bite your tongue!” A soldier snarled, but didn’t dare to strike the woman in fear of damaging her beautiful face. Then to Violet’s horror, Shala was being dragged from their home “No!” She said desperately while running at a soldier and grabbing the hilt of his bronze sword. She cried out as she drove it down into the mans shoulder, killing him. ‘Get out of my way!’ She thought as she began to swing and slice her way to her sister. “You will not take her!” She hissed “You will not take my baby away from me!” But despite all of Violets hard struggles, she was restrained and pinned to the ground “D-DON’T TAKE MY BABY!” She screamed mournfully. “DON’T TAKE MY BABY AWAY FROM ME!” Her scream shot through the village and dissipated into the still dark morning.

Chapter two: Milk, Eggs and a Living Goddess
It was dawn, Shala listened to the ceremony as she was being tied to the sacrificing pole and stared down at the skeleton of the previous woman that was sacrificed. The sun god only wanted blood and flesh, not bone, that is what the people told themselves. ‘That is what I am to become,’ Shala felt more tears come. “Lady Violet is here!” A voice called, Shala looked up to see her sister with a stone cold face, she looked out to the people and took a deep breath.
“Am I not the fairest in this nation?” She called into the crowd, which shot back their agreement.
“Do I not equal ten beautiful women?” Some agreed, some roared that her beauty would equal that of a hundred women.
“Sister?” Shala began to feel uneasy.
“If I were to be sacrificed, it would be a hundred years before another sacrifice would be needed!”
“No Lady Violet!” The crowd protested.
“Sister stop this!” Shala cried, but everyone was ignored.
“You will untie my sister, and I am to take her, and many other girls’ place,”
“Violet,” a voice boomed, attention went to the king who had been silent so far “You are not to be sacrificed, too many men would come to steal you away from the pole. The custom is to sacrifice the most beautiful girl in the village, you are the most beautiful woman in the nation, you mean far too much to the people,”
Violet’s cool faltered for a moment, she NEVER had to ask twice. The raven haired woman pulled a dagger from under her shaw and went to her sister but a soldier stepped into her path.
“No Violet,” he begged,
“Move aside mongrel,” Violet hissed dangerously and pointed the dagger at his chest “Or do you want to fight me? Would you take the chance of marring my features?”
The soldier looked to his king than down to his feet as he stepped aside. Violet proceeded and cut the ropes from her sisters wrist “Be home with you now, little sister, and don’t forget to ask Kale for some milk, but more importantly ask for the snake eggs.”
“You can not do this,” Shala choked, Violet placed her hands on her sisters face.
“This is what our mother did for me Shala,” She whispered “Mother was far too beautiful to kill, it was I, too young to be admired by men, who was chosen to be sacrificed, not our dear mother.”
“But-!” Shala tired to protest but her sister kissed her forehead and took her shoulders
“You will not be killed for a lie, Big Sister will not allow it. Now do as you’re told, be gone.”
Shala bit her lip but couldn’t hold it, she swung her arms around the woman that was her mother-like sister and now savior, her screams of sorrow broke all the hearts that heard them. “Take her,” Violet whispered to the soldier “Never let her get hurt, make sure she is happy forever.”
“No!” Shala cried as she tired to hold onto her sister, “NO!”
Violet’s own tears finally gave way when she felt her baby sister pried from her, her hands no longer gripping the back of her dress, her face no longer buried in her bosom but her desperate shrieks still piercing her ears, “Don’t-“ her voice faltered “Don’t forget the eggs, Shala.”
Violet was now in the ceremonial attire, desert flowers were weeved into her black hair and the white see-through dress did nothing to hide her body. Dyed red rope held Violet’s now bare hands behind the pole by her wrist, the jewelry and make up was all gone, the only unnatural thing about her was her now red skin and cracking lips. “Violet,” A man’s voice beckoned her to lift her head and open her eyes to look at the soldier she had spoken to that morning. “You survived the day Violet, the cold desert night will hopefully end you’re suffering,” He sounded as if he was the one in pain.
“My Shala?” Violet rasped,
“Shala is catatonic from the shock and pain in her heart, but she will pull through,”
“You’d better hope, soldier, I’ll haunt you if she is ever hurting; and be gentle, kind and patient with her, she has always feared men, you are no different.”
“You do not have to worry, besides you’ll be with the Sun g-“
“Quiet,” Violet snarled softly “I don’t want to hear such foolishness while I’m dying,”
“You have always doubted, Violet?”
“I’d rather die of starvation or a plague before I believe in a demon that requires the lives of mothers, daughters, nieces... Tell me soldier, how many girls have you bound to this pole?”
“Only you, my lady,” He murmured, uneasy with all the blasphemy coming from the scorched woman.
“What is it you want?” Violet sighed and let her head drop.
“Wha-... what am I to do with Shala, Lady Violet? You told me to take care of her, but how?”
“If you really want to fulfill my deepest desires, you would take Shala away from here, you would sell all my jewelry and gowns so you could buy my sister a beautiful home in a land that does not believe in such an abomination,” Violet looked up into the soldiers eyes “Perhaps you would marry her and make her so happy that she will forget her life here.” A blush colored the soldier’s face and he looked away.
“Say her name, soldier,” Violet said, bringing his attention to her and their eye’s locked “say my sisters full name if she were to marry you,”
“Shala... Ramsis,” He whispered, his heart jumped and he felt the sudden urge to see her.
“Go to my sister, Ramsis, and do not come back or you’ll be punished.” Ramsis looked at her sadly as she bowed her head again tiredly, he fought the urge to lay his hands on her for comfort, knowing it would bring the opposite to her sun burned flesh. He started to walk away when Violet spoke tiredly “Ramsis, don’t forget the milk from our neighbor Mr. Kale, and you must remember to ask for the snake eggs,” “Snake eggs?” Ramsis asked and Violet nodded “It will help you and my Shala.”
Ramsis walked into the home of Violet and Shala and looked around, as he searched trunks and cupboards for the jewelry and gowns that Violet had told him about he found himself dreading Shala’s awakening, would she really fear him? He collected Violets belongings, leaving a few for Shala, and in the morning he would start to trade them for money and food. ‘Food,’ Ramsis remember and hurried out the door again to see Mr. Kale. The farmer looked startled when he saw the soldier and was tempted to slam the door in his face.
“Please, I mean no harm!” Ramsis insisted, reading the man’s gaze “It was Violet’s last request that I care for her sister, she also instructed me to retrieve some milk and... snake eggs?” Ramsis was still unsure it he had heard Violet correctly, but Mr. Kale’s eyes went wide and looked around hurriedly before pulling the soldier inside.
“Lady Violet asked for the... snake eggs?” He whispered
“Sir?” Ramsis was becoming confused
“Come, boy, come!” Mr. Kale said as he hurried into another room, Ramsis felt uneasy and lightly placed his hand on the hilt of his sword before slowly following after the old man. The soldier’s brow raised when he saw Mr. Kale crouched in the corner, pulling up floor boards.
“Lady Violet asked me to hide this for her when I was building this room, it had belonged to her mother, and she had added to it ever since!”
“Added to what?” Ramsis asked, that was when the old man turned with a solid gold box in his hands, its beauty taking Ramsis off guard, but what really stunned him was when the old man opened the box to show that it was full of gold coins.
“Snake egg’s was the code to her will, my boy, she has given it to you!” Ramsis slowly reached out and took the box, that alone could’ve bought him a house! He grabbed a small hand full of coins and offered it to Mr. Kale who put his hands up.
“I can’t! I sim-“
“Would Lady Violet let you say no to her offer?” Ramsis stated, the old man shut his mouth and took the coins gingerly with tears in his eyes.
“That foolish woman,” he rasped, “She was our living goddess but the only one she loves in this world is her dear Shala, I don’t think she ever took a man seriously in her whole life.”
“Indeed,” Ramsis murmured as he started at the beautiful gold filled box “She was a living goddess.”

Chapter Three: Wyatt and Lucas
The sun was rising and the jackals in the desert would not stop yapping, Violet couldn’t hold herself up anymore, but she was forced to stand due to the pole. Her skin was reddened by the sun and the flowers in her hair turned brown and limp. ‘Today I die,’ she thought tiredly ‘I do not know how I even made it through the night.’
“Lucas?” Wyatt said angrily “why are we taller than the sand dunes?”
“You said to increase our matter before we left!” Lucas defended, but gripped at his short blonde hair in distress.
“I said to clearify (I made a new word 8B) the matter! You know, make us invisible!? Now how are we supposed to write a report on how they lived if we’re not supposed to be seen!?”
“Crap, that makes so much more since!” Lucas groaned
“How did you get clearify mixed with increase!?”
“I don’t know! They both have c’s and e’s and r’s-“
“You’re an idiot!” Wyatt growled as he ran his hands through his once sleek black hair “And there’s sand in my hair!” “OK, now you’re just looking for things to whine about so shut up!”
Both boys groaned, the report was due tomorrow and it was Lucas’ idea to visit the people of the ancient middle east, but now he’s gone and screwed it up. The blonde grimaced and shielded his blue eyes from the sun, “It’s a good thing deserts don’t exist anymore, the sun is too bright and the sand makes it hard to move,” he mumbled, referring to their present day climate control, no place was too hot or too cold anymore.
“Yeah, I don’t understand the point in sand at all, but that’s why they got rid of it I guess,” Wyatt agreed.
“Hey, Wyatt, we’re giants right?” Lucas asked with a grin
“Yeah, so?” The burnett murmured, uneasy about what his friend might be smiling about.
“We could totally reek havoc if we wanted!”
“Ha-ha, no!” Wyatt snarled “What are you thinking!?”
“Come on, I was just kidding! But lets at least look around, we could start our report by explaining the environment!”
“First smart thing you’ve said today!”
“HA-HA!” Lucas spat sarcastically as he headed in the direction where the annoying sun was pointed at his back, Wyatt joined him.
“Ok, desert hot, vast, bright and sandy! We need to go home before the sun starts to damage us, Lucas,”
“Yeah, but I want to see what that is first,” Lucas said, pointing ahead of him. Wyatt squinted and could see a red sliver in the distance.
“Sure, why not?” he sighed as they approached. The boys began to slow down when they could make out that the red sliver was a pole, and there was something on it.
“Where’s the next town, Wyatt?” Lucas asked apprehensively
“A mile, nobody should be out this far,”
“Wyatt... I think that may be a person,” Lucas slowed to a stop
“...tied to a pole!” Both looked at each other before rushing forward, knowing that they weren’t to be seen, but the matter or life and death out weighed the rules.
“Oh God, is she dead!?” Lucas panicked
“I don’t know, gimme some water though!” Lucas handed over one of the water bottles and Wyatt popped open the top before dumping some of it on the woman, they gasped when her head shot up but quickly fell back down.
“Man, she’s bad!” Wyatt moaned as he dumped the contents of his bag out onto the sand and grabbed the pocket knife.
“And she’s naked!” Lucas blushed
“Shut up and get some lotion, she’s burned!” Wyatt sputtered as he tried to cut the rope away from the woman’s wrist without cutting her.
Lucas pulled out a small tube of hand lotion and waited, but was surprised to see his friend cut off the woman’s see-through dress. “W-what are you doing!?”
“She’s burned all over, we need to get the lotion on her, it’s not like the dress was hiding anything any way!”
“You do it!” Lucas said, quickly offering his friend the lotion with a beet red face.
“You’re such a child,” Wyatt hissed as he took the lotion and bit off the cap.
“Is she going to be alright?” Lucas asked, looking away as his friend began to rub the cream over the woman’s bare body. The woman groaned, the contact must’ve hurt.
“I don’t know, her skins practically drinking the lotion, give me more water!” Wyatt poured more and attempted to keep it near her mouth, the woman’s arms suddenly grabbed the lip of the water bottle and the boys were sure they could hear her gulping it down before she seemingly passed out.
“What are we going to do!? She was tied there for a reason, so it’s not like her people will take her back, what if she tells!?” Lucas was gripping at his hair again “W-we gotta take her with us!”
“How are we going to hide a woman that’s from the ancient middle east!?” Wyatt barked
“We could keep her this size! She’ll be easy to hide and take care of like this!”
“Lucas, this is a human being, not a fucking frog!!!”
“Would you leave a human being to die in the desert! We’re giants, we can’t just take her to a village! Look at her, she won’t be able to make it anywhere like that! You said so yourself that the closest town is a mile! And she’s naked, what if some desert nomad sees her and ... you know!” Wyatt groaned in dismay, his friend was right on all accounts, “Ok, I’ll take some DNA and punch it into the system, I’ll compress her matter so she comes back to our time at this size, you stay with her,” With that, Wyatt snagged a few black hair’s from the woman, who flinched, and handed her over to his reluctant friend. He pulled up his black pant leg to reveal an ankle bracelet that looked like a wrist watch and pressed a couple of buttons.
Lucas watched as Wyatt began to vanish “Hurry!” He begged while looking down at the native. He began to gather things into his bag while groaning “Naked lady, naked lady, naked lady!” But it didn’t take long for Wyatt to return with another ankle bracelet, he took the woman and wrapped it around her torso. “Let’s go home,” he said with a sigh.

Chapter 4: Violet and the ...Sun God...s?
“She’s totally going to freak out!” Lucas moaned from his bed, the woman lay on a small pallet he had made on his desk for, she had yet to wake up.
“I know,” Wyatt sighed, sitting cross legged on the floor, his back resting against his friends bed.
“I mean... this is a completely different world to her!”
“I know,”
“And we’re giants! She’s gonna go into shock!!”
“I know! This was you idea, Lucas!” Wyatt snapped.
Mean while, Violet slowly began to wake to the boys’ voices. She licked her lips and was surprised to find that she was not dehydrated and was, in fact, extremely cold. Her green eyes slowly opened and she had difficulty focusing and her strange environment was not helping. Violet gave up and let her eyes fall shut again and simply listened to the two different voices, ‘what tongue are they speaking in?’ She wandered but shrugged it off, she was sure she was dead so there had to be many different people from different nations in the after life ‘but why must they speak so loud?’ “Silence, please,” she could only whisper and they did not hear her, or simply didn’t care. “Silence!” She whispered a bit louder, and she was saddened when she knew that was the best she could do.
“Did-?” Lucas started, unsure.
“She’s awake!” Wyatt gasped, both boys hurried over to check on her, “Ma’am?” Wyatt whispered. Violet opened her eyes startled when the voice hit her like a wind, she focused this time just to be staring into two different pairs of blue and green eyes that belonged to giants. The woman was stunned but managed to throw herself from her pallet and press her forehead onto the cold desk. ‘Is one of these titan’s the Sun God!? Both!? I was wrong! Oh, I am naked!’ Violet squeezed her eyes shut in dismay ‘Perhaps this is the way they want me.’
“Wyatt, is... Is she bowing?” Lucas stammered
“I.... I think she is,” Wyatt murmured
“Is that how they say ‘thank you’?”
“I’m no-“ Wyatt was suddenly cut off when the woman began to speak in a language long forgotten.
“I-I beg forgiveness! My dis-disbelief must hav-have been such an insult! It’s just- my mother- I never knew- Please forgive me!” Violet peeked up then looked back down “I-is my mother- no, forgive me, that is none of my business! Oh, please instruct me, I am- I am so unsure what to do! How am I to se-serve you!? Am I t-to entertain you!? I am not much of a singer but my dancing is pleasant!” Violet looked up mournfully, her strong will now broken “A-am I to be eatten!?”
“What’s she saying!? Wyatt she’s crying!” Lucas backed up and grabbed his blonde hair, not knowing what to do.
“Hey,” Wyatt cooed, kneeling down to face the distraught woman “It’s ok, please don’t cry, come on,”
Violet kept her head pressed to the desk top shaking “Master, I do not understand you!” she cried, ‘This is horrible!’ She thought ‘They must be annoyed with me by now! I never believed in them, I don’t understand them, I can not stop shaking, I must look like an old camel!’
“She doesn’t understand,” Lucas whined sadly “She thinks we’re gonna eat her or something!”
“Stop yelling or you’ll just scare her more!” Wyatt hissed at his friend before turning back to Violet, who hasn’t budged. Wyatt bit his lip and reached out, he tucked his first finger under her chin and gently lifter her head so she was looking at him. “That’s it,” he whispered with a smile “Now stand up,” Wyatt made the motion of rising with his free hand. Violet blinked but understood the order, she quickly stood but was disheartened when the blonde quickly turned away and the burnett became uneasy. Did they find her unappealing? Suddenly the brown eyed giant reached over her, she choked back a cry and braced herself but was surprised when something was draped over her. Violet opened her eyes to see that the giant was trying to wrap a white sheet around her, she took it and held it to her tightly.
“That’s it,” Wyatt smiled.
“We’ve got to get her some clothes!”
“We need to get her warm, I know she’s shaking because she’s scared but I know she’s got to be cold too,”
“Hm, yeah we did take her out of that inferno and into 75 , that can’t be good for her,” Lucas mumbled as he rubbed the back of his head. “How can we figure out her name?” Violet looked back and forth as the boys talked, ‘Are they trying to decide what they’re going to do with me?’ She thought dismally but straightened when the both looked back at her ‘How nerve wrecking,’ she bit her lip and fought the urge to run when the blonde one got closer and bent down, he smiled and pointed at himself and said something slowly. Violet tilted her head and a grimace crossed the boys face “Lu-cas,” he repeated, this time Violet listened to the word. “Can you say that, Lu-cas? That’s my name, Lu-cas, say Lucas,” Realization suddenly dawned on the girl and Wyatt stepped forward putting his hand on his chest “Wyatt,” then he pointed at the blonde “Lucas,” Then himself again “Wyatt,” then pointed at Violet. Violet pointed at Wyatt and clearly said “Wyatt?” a huge grin broke over the boys face “Yes!” He said excitedly and nodded “I’m Wyatt,” “Why’d she say your name first!?” Lucas whined and it got the tiny woman’s attention “Lucas,” She said, pointing at him. Lucas couldn’t help but smile and then pointed at her, “Yes, now what’s your name?” Violet blinked before saying her name in her language, and a grimace went over both the boys’ faces.
“I can’t pronounce that...” Lucas moaned
“Wait a minute!” Wyatt said, going to his friends laptop that was next to Violet and turning it on. Violet gawked when the contraption wheezed to life and started to glow, she wanted to get closer but found herself backing up from the alien object.
“Aw, she thinks it’s scary, it’s okay,” Lucas cooed
“Make her say her name again,” Wyatt said after hooking up a microphone and pointing it at Violet who stepped back and tripped over her blanket.
“No, it’s alright, you just talk in it-“ Wyatt said as he brought the microphone to himself “-like this. Now can you say your name?”
Lucas pointed at himself, “Lucas,” he then pointed at Wyatt “Wyatt,” and finally pointed at Violet who said her name into the microphone. The screen suddenly filled up and began to speak in a robotic but female voice “Aramaic for purple/violet, royalty.”
“Royalty? Is she a princess, or does her name mean something like that?” Lucas asked
“No,” Wyatt laughed “The color purple was associated with high ranking people like kings and stuff back then,”
“... So do we call her Princess?”
“We are not naming her ‘princess’! It sounds like a pets name... I think we should call her Violet,”
“That sounds a lot better.” The boys nodded and smiled at Violet, pointing at her and saying
“Violet.”
The said girl blinked in confusion before slowly laying a hand on her chest and saying “Vi-let?” The boys grinned and nodded, but Violet bit her lip while frowning ‘Are they naming me? Was my name now good enough?’
“You don’t like it?” Lucas said with a frown, Violet gasped when she saw that they were displeased with her reaction and offered a grin and pointed at herself “Violet!” She called happily.

Chapter 5: Like a Pet
Violet sighed in relief with the Sun God’s smiled she then looked around at the strange new place ‘If I am here, where are the others? Where is my mother?’ “What’s wrong?” Wyatt asked her and pushed the microphone closer “Here, if you need something, tell us through this.” Violet blinked at the bazar stick before speaking “Where are the others?”
The boys looked from her to the laptop and the same voice from before came out “The others where are.” It stated roboticly.
“The others where are? Where are the others?” Wyatt deciphered
“Switch it so we can talk to her,” Lucas said softly,
“Who are you talking about?” Wyatt asked into the microphone, Violet jumped with the computer started to speak in her language,
“Talking about who are you.” It had said, Violet took a moment before she figure that it was speaking kind of back wards. She leaned into the microphone that was offered to the again.
“The others that were sacrifice to you,”
The boys listen to the computer and a stunned look came over there face.
“Others sacrificed to us?” Lucas mumbled, Wyatt stared at Violet intently before switching the translation system so that it switched his language to hers.
“Think we are who do you, Violet?” The machine said after the giant boy had spoken into it, Violet was surprised to here her name even when they didn’t, that’s when she noticed that they didn’t rename her, but were simply saying her name in there language.
“What?” She asked.
Wyatt frown and spoke more slowly “Violet, who do you think we are?”
Violet bit her lip, he sounded calm but she wondered if they were displeased with the way she was addressing them.
“Master Wyatt and Master Lucas? The Sun Gods.” So unsure of what they wanted she bit her tongue and gave them what she thought they wanted.
Lucas frowned but pink colored his cheeks “Master? Sun Gods?”
A scowl came across Wyatt’s face, “That’s why she was on the pole, she was being sacrificed,”
“No way,” Lucas breathed, glancing at his friend before they went back to Violet.
“Violet,” Wyatt said gently “We are not the Sun Gods, we are human like you.” That’s when the most painful pause came, they stared at her as she stared at them, trying to comprehend something. Wyatt bit his lip, be could almost hear the metaphorical snapping before Violet let loose a loud scream, dropped her sheet and ran from their direction then straight off the desk.
“Whoa!” Lucas gasped, but the quicker of the two snatched from the air before Violet even knew that she was falling. The raven haired woman screamed and banged her right fist onto Lucas’, her left was pinned in the fist.
“What wrong with her!?” Lucas asked, quickly handing the naked woman over to the more mature of the group. Wyatt had the sheet ready and gathered her in it.
“She’s confused now, she thought that we were the pagan gods that she was being sacrificed to, now that she know’s we not she has no clue what we ar-OW!” Wyatt was surprised when Violet became violent and started to claw at him. “I’m sorry, Violet,” He whispered before he pinned the woman’s arms then wrapped the sheet around her like a burrito.
Lucas grabbed the mic and tried to sound soothing even though he to was panicing
“Violet, Violet, listen! It’s ok, everything is alright, we won’t hurt you, we saved you!” Suddenly Violet’s screams were words, Wyatt quickly switched the translation and Lucas help the microphone closer.
“Who are you!? What do you want from me!? Let me go! What are you going to do with me?”
“She’s talking to fast for the translator,” Lucas moaned
“I understood some words, give me the mic,” Wyatt took it and held Violet so she was looking into his eyes. “We are people, just like you Violet, but this is a different time, understand? Don’t ask what we’re going to do to you because the answer is answer is obvious, we’re going to take care of you, so don’t be scared, Okay?”
Violet panted and watched as the hand with the black talking stick tapped a button on the glowing folding things. The microphone was brought back to her face and she leaned away from it “If you are people, then why are you so big?” She hissed. Wyatt and Lucas exchanged uneasy glances before Wyatt sighed and switched the translation again.
“We’re not big, you’re tiny.”
Violet stared at them before realization dawned on her “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME!?”
They flinched and Wyatt took a deep breath “Ok, listen Violet, where we come from, you don’t tie people to poles and let them burn to death, it’s wrong to kill so it would’ve been wrong to let you die. But Violet, you were already half dead, we couldn’t just leave you there and one of our rules is not to be seen so we couldn’t take you back to your village. We couldn’t help you out there in the desert ourselves, so our only choice was to bring you here and to keep you secret, keep you safe, we shrunk you.”
Violet head dropped and Wyatt hated that he hasn’t even told her the worst of it “Violet, I’m so, so sorry, but now that all this has happen, we can’t...” Wyatt sighed looked away “We can’t let you go back to your time... or anywhere at that.” He didn’t even want to, but he switched the translator and readied himself.
“I’m- I have- I have to stay with you the rest of my life?” Violet stammered, Wyatt nodded sadly. Lucas couldn’t take it anymore and retreated to his bed and stared off into depressing space. Tears fell from Violet’s green eyes as she struggled with reality.
“I’m going to be the pet of two giant boys from the future!?”
Wyatt flinched when she said ‘giant boys’ as if it hurt her, “I know, I know it seems like that, Violet, but believe me, please, we don’t think you’re a pet. We just-“ Wyatt groaned, minus the circumstances how was this any different from saving an injured mouse or a frog and keeping it as a pet? “Violet, I’m sorry, I- ... I’m going to go make you something to eat, ok?” With that said the burnette set her down on her pallet and stood “Keep an eye on her, Lucas,” he said before he left the room.
The blonde looked over to see Violet’s face buried in her small hands, her tiny shoulder bobbing up and down from cry. “Please don’t cry,” He whispered, but knew she wouldn’t understand without the microphone and also knew it wouldn’t do any good.

>.o She's taking that news very badly. I hope they can at least convince her that she's safe. Though I can understand why she'd be sad in that situation ...
